Well, I heard a lot of things about the big chief coasters. So when we got the chance to go to Wisconsin Dells, I jumped at the chance.
First we went on Pegasus. I knew this ride was more of a family coaster so I didn't expect much. This ride has not much excitement, and the ending is very painful.
After riding Go karts, we went on Cyclops. It had some good airtime. It was very short. It had some really banked turns. I did not enjoy this ride at all.
Next was Zeus. I was hoping this ride would be better than the other two. It had some really good airtime moments but something killed the ride. It was the really banked turns at high speeds. It was very painful.
In other words, I did not have fun. Although you get two laps on each coaster, it is still very short. It seems that the sudden turns killed each ride. I am not saying that all sudden turns kill the experience, because if you look at Viper at SFGAm, the sudden turns are not painfull. I don't know if it just me because I have been spoiled by SFGAm's great woodies, but I did not see what people liked about these rides. Two big thumbs DOWN!

Thanks for the detailed trip report. It wasn't good. Maybe your next one will be better. I think I've been spoiled by the other member's great trip reports.

I'll forgive you for scaring the hell out of me when your train stalled at the top of the lift when I was 6.

Wow have you ever been outside of SFGAM and Big Chiefs? Cyclops with SOME air? Geez it has the most intense ejector air of any coaster in the back seat. Viper slow? It flies.
Sudden banked turns painful? Banking makes then not painful. Viper has no sudden turns. Painful? Forceful yes but definitely not painful.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)
Jed. If you were anywhere near the back of the train on Cyclops and didnt experience violent ejector airtime than I can come up with the following conclusions.
1. You superglued your ass to the seat(Elmers?) :)
2. You bolted your ass to the seat.
3. You didnt actually sit near the back.
As far as Zeus is concerned, I remember getting launched out of my seat and proceeded while airborne to be laterally thrown to the right into the turnaround. That is a 1-2 punch that any woodie enthusiast would appreciate.
While the park itself is nothing to write home about, it certainly has some great CCI goodness going for it.

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.
Some air? Dude, you gotta post a picture of yourself. Short of weighing 450, I can't figure out how you could rate Cyclops with some air.
I rode Cyclops from the back row and the midcourse trench drop stood me straight up....at 10:30 am. 6'1", 220, stood straight up and gripping the row in front of me by my shoes at the top of the morning.
I rode SFGAM's Viper the same evening--it had hours to get loose that 'clops didn't--and while it was a good ride, it was nowhere near Cyclops. Not even remotely close. In fact, I rode a slew of other woodies during the following 5 days and the only one that came close was Cornball Express at night.

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.
Are you sure you were at the Big Chief's Carts and Coasters in WISCONSIN? Did you ride the same Cyclops, Zeus, and Pegasus that I did? Obviously not because Cyclops has the most insane ejector air that you will EVER find on a coaster, bar none. If they put anymore ejector air in a coaster it would shoot your a$$ straight to the moon! And Zeus has great airtime, marvelous speed, and a great combo of laterals that makes it a true gem. Even Pegasus is great with all the wonderful laterals it has.
You obviously werent at the same park I have gone to over the years because the Big Chiefs I go to has three marvelous CCI gems.
And btw, Playa, I know you and I will never agree on Viper but I still think that it has more moments of extreme ejector air than Cyclops making it an overall better coaster. Sure Cyclop's one moment of air is the strongest air you will find, it doesnt have four, count them four moments where your a$$ leaves your seat. Just my humble opinion. Next time you come down to Great America we should ride Viper together and compare notes.

Jed, I wouldn't worry about what other people say, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and some people need to learn that. If everyone had the same opinions then life (and these forums) would be very boring.
Personally I thought Cyclops in the back seat was pretty good, but it was nothing special in the front. The ejector air in the back on that infamous drop is one of the best, although Megafobia has two such ejectors.
The only airtime I got on Zues was on the double-down, but it was fast and quite intense. It was a little bumpy in the back though, but nothing too bad.
While the coasters at Big Chief are quite good, the park and those very slow go-karts suck big time!
