BGW::TIMELINE updated with photos, video

Posted | Contributed by Justin Worsley

I updated the Busch Gardens Williamsburg Timeline with a bunch of cool new stuff. Here's a quick breakdown of some highlights:

  • A vintage photo of Die Wildkatz (1979 Park Gallery)
  • Two vintage photos of Glissade, (1979 Park Gallery)
  • A classic photo of the Rhine River before the Loch Ness Monster, Big Bad Wolf and San Marco footbridge. (1977 Park Gallery)
  • I've got the 1994 map and brochure, as well as a brief year summary as well. (1994)
  • A brief write-up on the removal of Gladiator's Gauntlet (1993 Park Changes)

Also, the Drachen Fire ride guide is slated for a Thanksgiving release, but to get everyone excited, I created a nice little Drachen Fire video, a theatrical trailer if you will, promoting the ride guide's upcoming release. I'm really proud of it. If you have fat sound on your computer, this is a must see video.

Awesome! Beautiful site! Can't wait till it's done. BGW is one of my favorite parks.
It said it cost $8.75 to get in at one time. I believe that's about what I paid for dinner in September! I'm ageing myself quite a bit, but I remember riding Glissade when I was younger.

Christ how do you kids do it
Ever wonder if Ireland's Corkscrew Hill has another meaning?  Think about it, Ireland....Myths...Dragons... DRACHEN FIRE!  Since the reason Glissade and Wildcat were taken out was that they were "carnival-like rides" that didn't blend in the park, maybe that means a good thing for Drachen Fire.  The park might not of wanted to throw away such an investment and is planning to blend it into the Ireland section of the park after it debuted.  Since this is the only part of the park without a real main attraction, which will probably change soon, what better to move an theme Drachen Fire into Ireland! *** This post was edited by Acrophobia on 11/6/2001. ***
Wow.  I'm eagerly awaiting the Drachen Fire Guide, man!
I have heard that Drachen Fire will in fact open sometime in the next couple years. Modifications are being done to the coaster to make it smoother. Believe me or not but I know this is a fact.
