BGW or SFA?

I've been forced into a dilema. I live in Alabama and we are traveling to Washington DC in a few weeks and I've been left with a choice. I can either go to BGW or SFA. Since I've never been to either, I figured I'd ask you guys to help me with my decision.

Been to both... Both great parks, but I lean twoards BGW. Appolos Chariot and Alpengeist are worth the trip. Dont forget Paramounts Kings Dominion is right there in that general vacinity as well....

DUH!!!!!! WOW, how could i forget about PKD? Well, now the question is: PKD, BGW, or SFA?

BGW has the least coasters, and kicks the ass of the other two.

OMG, I'm a CreHo.

If you can only do one, do BGW. All three parks have their merits, but in my opinion BGW offers more as an overall package than the others -- atmosphere, rides, excellent food...

Like there's any choice there. BGW is it. If I lived in that region it'd easily be my favorite park.

It all depends on what you want. If you want a bunch of coasters and thrillrides, then PKD is the way to go. If you want mostly shows and great atmosphere, BGW is the way to go. SFA is cool too, but all they have to offer is Superman, Batwing and ROAR. I would choose either BGW or PKD.

^Don't forget Wild one....with the way Roar has been running lately(on the rough side) WO would be the smoother of the two woodies there.

SFA has been having problems with superman lately, but on days when they manage to keep it running it's definitely worth the trip especially when ridden at night.

If by chance you happen to have an SF season pass then SFA has a clear advantage over both PKD & BGW & that of course is free admission, all three are good parks so it is a tough call to make but you'll probably have a good time no matter which of the three you choose to visit.

im kinda leaning toward PKD now because im in it for the rides. I just returned from USF so ive had my fair share of shows and atmosphere. I haven't really been to a "thrill" park this summer, so thats kinda what im looking for.

The one thing that PKD lacks is air. Aside from the top hat on Hypersonic, the park has very little for the air whore. S:RoS has way more air than all the coasters in PKD combined. *** Edited 7/3/2004 6:51:08 AM UTC by ApolloAndy***

Personally I think BGW has plenty of action, while it does not have a lot of coasters all of their coasters I want to ride multiple times. In my opinion BGW has the best arrow looper, suspended and inverted coasters I have ever riden, and thats without mentioning the other rides! Corkscrew Hill is a very good sim, Escape from Pompeii is excellent, their train and skyway network is extremly well done.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

Without a doubt, I would go to BG anyday over pkd......I live an hour away from KD, so I've been there a lot, and I am always let down by it. It just doesnt have the quality I think it should......Bg is definitely worth the trip.....they dont have as many coasters, but I think there is so much more effort put into Bg, you'll be happy there.

PKD is my home park, but BGW is the far superior park. it may only have 4 coasters, but all four of them are absolutely outstanding. Apollo's Chariot is my #2 coaster of all time, behind Millenium Force. Alpengeist, Big Bad Wolf, and Loch Ness Monster are all also fantastic.

plus the park is just so much classier than PKD or SFA. really stunningly beautiful, ridiculously clean, and the food is great. PKD's food, by the way, is awful and getting worse.

It is hard to decide. It depends on what you are looking to ride when you go to a park.

BGW is much more beautiful park. All of their 4 coasters are outstanding. I love BBW. That is a great ride. Alpengeist is up there as far as my favorite inverts. Apollos Chariot is pretty good. Lochness Monster is a classic.

SFA is a mediocre park. They do have some good coasters. I like Superman more than Apollos. Batwing is a decent flyer. Wild One & Roar are decent woodies. Jokers Jinx is a decent launched coaster. Minderaser is the standard hang and bang. Two Face is good fun.

SFA is a much nowhere near as clean as BGW, but on my past several visits they were improving in that. I don't know if they are still doing a better job.

If its running the Typhoon Seacoaster @SFA would be a good ride, but I have yet to get to ride it on any of my visits to the park. The Roman Rapids at BGW is much better than SFA's poor excuse for a rapids ride.

Its hard to decide. Depends on what you are looking to do. I'd go to SFA because of it being a closer drive. For the last 2 years we have started a tradition of going to BGW, and PKD since they open earlier than the parks around me. I'd skip both, and go to PKD. ;)

I honestly didn't get the much from Alpie. It is a great ride compared to a lot of the other coasters in the area, but compared to most of the other custom inverts, it's just not that spectacular.

BGW would be my choice. While they may not have the most coasters, they are some of the most fun to ride. I've been there many times and always had a great time.
PKD has some good rides also but I have always been some sort of bad experience every time I go there. Broken rides and long hot lines to name a few.
SFA has a couple good rides but some are unbelievably rough. Just my opinion.
BGW without a doubt. SFA has been getting better but its still the worst of the three. PKD is nice but BGW is amazing. its my favorite park outside disney. the theming is great and all the rides are world class. its simply one of the best parks out there

Thanks,

I love busch gardens, it is such a great park with 4 great coasters. I have never been to PKD, and SFA is a pretty standard Six Flags park. After spending two days at Cedar Point I cant even think about visiting another Six Flags park without feeling disapointed.
