BGW, any good flats?

I'm considering a trip to BGW, but was wondering what, if any are the major thrill rides, aside from coasters. Thanks
They have a good set of flats in the area by San MArco and Fiesta Italy. A pirate ship, cradle, tea cups, sled thingly. Some kiddy flats over in Germany. They have Cork Screw hill with is a 4d adventure that I really really like. I recommend going in OCT. Its 2 different parks. Beautiful Busch Gardens in the day and creepy Hallow-O-Scream park at night. They have Escape from Pompeii which is kind of lame but worth a trip on. Take the train ride. Overall this park is truly amazing man! I would go no matter what. Its got great shows, great rides, great food, and some of the best ride ops in the country, and best of all its so clean! Good luck on your trip planning and head over to buschgardens.com and check out there site they have a complete list of all the rides!

Thanks,
DMC

DaVinci's Cradle *rocks*....:)

The Festa Italia section sports a few flats...a swinging ship was one of them (yawn, it's non-inverting), and I think there's another one I'm not recalling at present, but "the Cradle".....WILL rock.

Overall, the park was pretty sparse on flat rides...but DO check out Corkscrew Hill (we need a report on it, LOL).

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

The "other one" is an Orbiter.

It's the best flat ride in the park.

Some of the flats are: Antique Cars, Zierer Flying Carpet, Intamin Bounty, Tivoli Orbiter, Mack Music Express, Mack Tea Cups, kiddie area with some Zamperla stuff, Eli Bridge Scrambler, Zierer Wave Swinger, kiddie (Zamperla possibly) swinger ride and a carousel.

The only thing that I don't like about The Flying Machine is the fact that the operator must manually unlock each car individually. Other than that, the ride is a lot of fun, even if it isn't run in the same mode as the carnies use on their Orbiters.

The Tradewind (Mack Musik Express) is one of my favorites. The ride has a neat look to it with its gold interior and yellow cars and the park pumps Roman Gladiator-style music through the speakers. Very cool indeed. I do miss the Mack Sea Storm and the Vekoma Canyon trip though....

And even though it's not a flat, be sure to ride Escape From Pompeii. This themed Intamin Spillwater (Chutes) ride is one of the best water rides I have ever done. While it's a rather brief ride, the special effects alone are worth the trip.

ray p. (who really needs to get back to BGW)

l. BGW has one of the great amusement park trains in the country.
2. The gondolas are great. You can capture some great coaster pix from those gondolas.
3. The teacups at BGW are the best outside of Disneyworld.
4. The Escape from Pompeii boat plunge may be the best in the country. A few others match its height and steep drop, but don't touch its theming.
5. The Musik Express is one of the best versions of this ride.
6. Their Antique Cars are unique in the way they wander off down the hillside and then climb back up.
7. They have one of the top five Scramblers (PKI, CP, HW, CW).

Not exactly rides, but don't forget the live shows. They're worth a visit.
I'd have to agree about the Escape from Pompeii. The entire ride is just very well done, and doesn't get the credit it deserves. Although, I can't say much for any flats in the park, because I mainly just stuck to the coasters, which are also great. :)
BGW theming rocks!

Start the Kid's Revolution; the tyranny must end. Free Pancakes.
Gasp! No mention of gone & forgotten Gladiator's Gauntlet yet?

I really like BGW's flats selection. While it does have a 70s/80s-ish feel, they've got some real good ones. Tradewind and The Flying Machine are both hoots.

I agree with the comments about the park's Steam Train Railroad. It's one of the better ones out there. You go across two HIGH trestles over the Rhine River, and then wind out through the woods where Drachen Fire use to be. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Im going to have to echo the praises of Pompeii and all of its flats.

In addition, ride the trains too, very senic and a great way to hop areas in addition to the sky ride.

Also dont miss the shows, they are very good. I once got to see the Cradle of Riverdance (the "next generation" of Riverdance) do an hour and a half show in their outdoor theatre in France, for free! Talk about getting your money worth, a show and a theme park :).
