BGW and PKD crowds 03/19-20

Will the crownds be very heavy this weekend. I plan on getting at bgw at opening on sat. then pkd on sunday. Also there is a chance of rain sat so does apollo's chariot and alpinegeist run in the rain? Thanks

Both parks should be fairly slow, it's supposed to be in the low 40's to 50. remember in a heavy rain some coasters close and in the cold some close also.

the threat of rain and the cold weather should keep the crowds on the lower side of busy.

Generally the colder the weather, the fewer the crowds are. You can throw out this rule during Halloween of course. I'm just hoping they'll be nice at PKD at turn off the water jets on Tomb Raider, but in any case, I'll be prepared with change of clothes and will also have dry shoes (unless the 30% chance of rain on Saturday does materialize and it won't matter anyway). I have seen zero advertising for Tomb Raider in the Baltimore area (although my friend did find some $7 off coupons). So far there are no $25 pre-paid Blockbuster tickets like last year either. The best option looks to be to pre-order the tickets at home three days prior to arrival for $31.99.
It's very difficult to make predictions, especially about the future. (tm)

My spring break is 3/25 to 4/3 and were going almost every day because we own a condo down there and we get free enterance to the park because my dad is in the military. will the crowds be big and when are VA spring breaks. thanks.
Yep. I'd say weather is the major factor. I have been going to those parks as my 1st coaster trip for the last 3 years on this weekend, and I have always been pretty lucky with the weather. Mid to upper 60's and sunny. It was crowded at BGW, but no where like it would be during peak season. The longest wait for a coaster was Alpengeist, and that was about 35 minutes for the front seat. Apollo's was a walk on until they took off the 3rd train.

If its going to be cold or rain you'll won't have to worry about crowds. Last year it rained a little bit saturday evening when I got to PKD(But was nice and sunny at BGW earlier in the day,) and there wasn't anyone there.

I went to PKD on Sunday last year, and the crowds were minimal. The longest line was the new at the time Scooby Doo ride. That was like 45 minutes long. The coasters were just out of the station. Nothing bad at all.

Yes, record crownds are expected, didn't you see the bulletin from Miss Cleo? Geez, what kind of coaster enthusiast are you? But, I really recommend bringing protective gear, those crownds can get really nasty if you're caught in the middle of them. I had a friend that went through a crownd storm and holy crap, he's never been the same since. Sort of sad that they still let that kind of thing into amusement parks, you'd think they'd have developed a spray or something by now? At least put up a net or something. If you're unfortunate enough to be on a coaster when the crownds come, protect your face and say goodbye to any leg and arm hair, they really love that stuff. But hey, if it's a good enough ride, you'll have fun anyway!

As far as crowds go, who knows, and who cares, will it stop you from going anyway? Didn't think so ...

We can't see into the future, but I can say that this weekend looks to be ****ty. Also, they havn't been advertising PKD or BGW much about the opening, just "Get your season passes now!" They havn't said any dates, probably so they can run Tomb Raider and that other dark ride's name that I can't spell over and over and make sure the bugs are out. I don't think these parks want a Test Track on their hands. ;)
Let's see; 30% chance of rain/snow showers on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. You do the math. All I know is that I've already asked off for Saturday, so my crew will be there to keep the employees company (that is if my crew keeps me company!).
