i will try to keep this brief. we arrived at 9:15. we quickly went over to the entrance to italy. we were pretty much alone except for a few other people. time passed and more people came. the security guard was very cool, answering any question......
DRACHEN FIRE NEWS-
the guy said-"all i can tell you is, wait for next year". he then went on to say he knew the truth about DF and ALL the internet rumors are FALSE. i am believing this guy, he is not one to lie. hmmmmmmm.
back to the day, he dropped the rope and we walked quickly to apollo's chariot
APOLLO'S CHARIOT-
we got the 1st ride of the day! never happened to me before. second row-right side. this takes bkf down to #4 and AP is now #3. the turnaround kinda stunk and the brakes were hitting hard. still cool. after that, some lady said to catch the train to alpengeist. boy, good strategy.
ALPENGEIST-
the whole area looked like a ghost town. i only saw about 5 people. went to alpengeist- walk on ride.......IN THE FRONT. they were sending trains out with 3-6 people on them. anyone who says alpengeist is better than raptor, i have to say....HAHAHAHAHAHA. alpie was the most uncordinated piece of trash i have ever ridden. i always rode b&m's in confort. this is rougher than Mean Streak! the midcourse.......OWWWWWWW! of course, i hopped off and went in the back to ride it. next we walked to Loch Ness.
LOCH NESS MONSTER-
sat in the back, didnt like it too much. not used to rough arrows after riding corkscrew and double loop a lot. this one is like mean streak- a beautiful coaster with a good layout- but brakes and roughness kill it. next we stopped on Wilde Mouse on the way to big bad wolf.
WILDE MOUSE-
been there down that.
BIG BAD WOLF-
to many brakes....that last drop is cool and makes the ride. longest wait of the day-20 minutes. the kids love these suspended. we rode every coaster there in 1.5 hours. we walked around, enjoyed the scenery and rode apollo's chariot m猀琀 漀昀 琀栀攀 搀愀礀⸀ 㰀戀爀㸀㰀戀爀㸀䄀瀀漀氀氀漀✀猀ⴀ 爀椀搀攀猀Ⰰ ⴀ䰀Ⰰ ⴀ䴀刀Ⰰ ㈀ⴀ䰀Ⰰ ㌀ⴀ刀Ⰰ 㐀ⴀ䰀Ⰰ 㘀ⴀ䰀Ⰰ 㘀ⴀ䰀Ⰰ 㠀ⴀ䰀Ⰰ 㤀ⴀ刀Ⰰ 㤀ⴀ䰀⸀⸀⸀⸀⸀⸀⸀ 眀愀椀琀 琀椀洀攀 㔀ⴀ㔀 洀椀渀甀琀攀猀㰀戀爀㸀㰀戀爀㸀䄀氀瀀攀渀最椀攀猀琀ⴀ ㈀ 爀椀搀攀猀Ⰰ ⴀ刀Ⰰ 㤀ⴀ䰀⸀⸀⸀⸀⸀眀愀椀琀 琀椀洀攀ⴀ 栀漀眀攀瘀攀爀 氀漀渀最 椀琀 琀漀漀欀 洀攀 琀漀 眀愀氀欀 椀渀 琀栀攀 猀琀愀琀椀漀渀㰀戀爀㸀 㰀戀爀㸀䰀漀挀栀 一攀猀猀ⴀ 爀椀搀攀Ⰰ 戀愀挀欀猀攀愀琀ⴀ䰀⸀⸀⸀⸀⸀眀愀椀琀 琀椀洀攀 洀椀渀甀琀攀猀㰀戀爀㸀㰀戀爀㸀圀椀氀搀攀 䴀愀甀猀攀ⴀ 爀椀搀攀Ⰰ ⴀ刀⸀⸀⸀眀愀椀琀 琀椀洀攀 洀椀渀甀琀攀猀㰀戀爀㸀㰀戀爀㸀䈀椀最 䈀愀搀 圀漀氀昀ⴀ 爀椀搀攀Ⰰ ㈀ⴀ䰀⸀⸀⸀眀愀椀琀 琀椀洀攀 ㈀ 洀椀渀甀琀攀猀㰀戀爀㸀㰀戀爀㸀最漀漀搀 搀愀礀 愀琀 琀栀攀 瀀愀爀欀⸀ 爀漀搀攀 攀瘀攀爀礀 爀椀搀攀 琀栀攀爀攀 椀 琀栀椀渀欀⸀ 最漀漀搀 昀漀漀搀Ⰰ 瀀爀攀琀琀礀 最漀漀搀 漀瀀猀Ⰰ 渀椀挀攀 攀甀爀漀瀀攀愀渀 眀漀爀欀攀爀猀⸀㰀戀爀㸀ⴀ䴀椀欀攀㰀戀爀㸀䔀嘀䔀刀夀 倀䄀刀䬀 䔀堀䔀䌀⸀ 刀䔀䄀䐀 吀䠀䤀匀ⴀ 䴀䄀䬀䔀 䄀 䘀刀䤀䌀䬀䔀一 匀䤀一䜀䰀䔀 刀䤀䐀䔀刀匀 䰀䤀一䔀 伀一 䴀䄀䨀伀刀 䌀伀䄀匀吀䔀刀匀℀ 椀 挀漀甀氀搀 最攀琀 爀椀最栀琀 戀愀挀欀 漀渀 䄀倀 愀氀氀 椀 眀愀渀琀攀搀Ⰰ 椀琀 眀愀猀 最爀攀愀琀℀㰀戀爀㸀ⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀ㰀戀爀㸀㐀㠀⸀㘀洀椀⸀ ⴀ 䌀倀㰀戀爀㸀㈀㜀⸀㈀洀椀⸀ ⴀ 匀䘀伀㰀戀爀㸀ⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀⴀ㰀戀爀㸀㌀ 䴀䘀 爀椀搀攀猀㨀㰀戀爀㸀㌀ⴀ㈀Ⰰ 㔀ⴀⰀ 㤀ⴀ㈀
What an odd coincidence... my first ride on Apollo was the same place, same first train. I felt it wasn't as fast as it could be, like it had to warm up a bit. My night ride seemed to confirm this.
I thought Nessie was unusually smooth for an Arrow, especially in the helix. Maybe you were sitting over bad wheels.
If you thought Alpengeist was rougher than Mean Streak, you haven't been on either one enough. I found Alpie to be a powerful, smooth ride in the front. The speed is amazing. I'll admit the speed is kind of lost in other seats because you can't see as well. I put Raptor higher everywhere but the front seat, where Alpie is the clear winner.
Wilde Maus is a fun little ride. It helps round out the experience if you ask me.
I found Big Bad Wolf to be the best of the suspendeds I've been on (with Iron Dragon and Top Gun being the others). I don't get what you mean about there being too many brakes, because other than the trim on the big drop, you'll only find them in the usual places (before lifts and at the end). Even the trim isn't that big of a deal, as that has to be one of the coolest drops I've ever seen.
BGW is the only other park I've been to that I'd be proud to have as my home park.

alpengeist was very rough, i was over exaggerating about saying it is rougher than than mean streak. i am just used to getting on a b&m that is smoother. alpengeist was probably one of the most intense coasters i have ever rideen on. it is still highly tolerable. as for bbw, i saw breaks in places in the houses, they werent bad and it is my favorite suspended too(iron dragon, top gun also). i didnt even think that trim was on on the big drop. i loved the ride after the big drop, wish it were longer after that. apollo did seem faster at night too. i watched it the whole morning, they only ran 2 trains then let us on. if bgw gets 2-3 top notch world classers, it will beat cp.

Mike,
What do you expect to happen to Drachen Fire?
Dan
the security guard that i talked to for a while before he dropped the rope said.....that ALL internet rumors were FALSE. he also said "watch out for next year". he said he knew why it is shut down and when they are opening it. i dont have an explaination, i have no idea the fate as nobody does(except park personell of course). i guess i'll take the guard's story.

Drachen Fire Rumors that I have heared...
It is going to the scrap heap.
It is up for sale but nobody is buying.
It is up for sale and has been sold.
It will be getting new trains and will re-open at BGW.
It will be taken down and put in storage.
It has been re-opened.
If ALL rumors are false, (some more believable than others) what's up? One of these must be true.

Gotta ride 'em all!
Looks like it can be ours for 4.5 million.

I wish DF was open. It looks like a cool roller coaster. I think BG is dumb for shuting it down.
Has anyone rode it before? Tell me what its like?
I have ridden Drachen Fire before, it is still one of my favorite coasters. The coaster was rough but what do you expect? I especially liked the inversion right after the lift and the cutback toward the end. Even without the final corkscrew it was still great. I was at BGW on the 21st of July and like punk said there was hardly anyone there. There is life on DF now, there is some sort of bird nest on that first inversion. It even had lights on the train during the night. I wish DF was open too, maybe next year!!
