We started the day out by arriving at the park at 10:30am and made our first traditional stop at Pirates 4-D... no matter how many times I see it, I love it!
Next we decided to challenge the Loch Ness Monster as a warm-up for my friends who were new comers to the roller coaster world. Nice ride... smoother than I had remembered... Rode it a total of 3 times throughout the day. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 on the roller coaster love scale.
After walking down the hundred or so stairs and across the Rhine River we found ourselves ready to board the Big Bad Wolf. I have been on this thing many times but WOW!!! It was so much better than I had remembered. The back pod was very nice... Rode this 2 times... BBW scores a 7 out of 10 on the love scale.
Across the Rhine River once more and into Italy with its skyline topped by the wonderful masterpiece that is Apollo's Chariot. Surprisingly enough my friends were not apprehensive to challenge this monster at all... so YAY! After waiting a total of about 1 minute we boarded the second to last row, and soon enough we began to "enjoy our flight to the sun on the wings of Apollo's Chariot". How much do I love this ride? Words cannot decribe its magnificence. B&M has a winner in this ride, smooth, fast, and just plain PACKED with airtime. Good old fashioned fun... Enjoyed my flight another 4 times later on in the day. Definetly an enthusiastic 9 out of 10 on the roller coaster love scale.
Now we entered the lunch break/water ride/simulator portion of the day which included Escape from Pompeii 2 times, Roman Rapids, Le Scoot Log Flume twice, Corkscrew Hill, and lunch, which I am happy to say was my longest line of the day at 15 minutes...
On to Alpie... again... WOW. MUCH more forceful than I had remembered, and the speed on this baby was incredible. Not surprisingly this was the ride which my friends were terrified by, but GEEZ... its a doosy... Rode this baby in the front row twice after only waiting 10 minutes each time... and then conviced one of my scared friends to ride and had a walk on to the middle row... A WALK ON TO ALPIE!!! I was scared... it seemed to wonderful... and wow the ride is wonderful. MMMM... good old B&M goodness... Alpie gets an 8 out of 10 on the roller coaster love scale just for being so dang powerful! B&M weak??? Have you ridden Alpie???
So that concluded my fabulous day at BGW... but of course I had to stop in to the Royal Confectionary... Its a long ride home and candy always helps... But it was a great day...
BGW as a park gets an enthusiastic 9 out of 10 on some kind of cool phrased scale...
