BGT's Scorpion red and blue

This isn't really a news item, but I thought I'd give the shout to BGT Guide here in the forum. They painted Scorpion red and blue. Weird...

From what I understand they painted it those colors to compliment the new Cheetah Chase ride. Some of the flats in that area of the park were also repainted. I think it looks better with these new colors.

Certain victory.

I don't mind it, but I prefer the red-orange track with brown supports. It's been that scheme since I was a wee lad.

I also prefer a yellow Python to the current white. Let's hope they don't change the colors on Kumba or Montu. *** Edited 3/16/2004 2:23:29 PM UTC by Vater***

Ow... my eyes! At least it's something besides the ever-so-popular lime green and blue (1, 2, 3, 4). Or yellow.

Colin D., who longs for the days when all-maroon rides like Iron Wolf were acceptable.

I don't mind... I always like to see coasters in a new paint job. Unlike RCT, you can't paint your favorite coaster any colors you want.
I like the new colors, but cant compare them to the olds as i didnt see the ride in its prior color scheme.
It looks more orange than red if you ask me ;)

Olsor, you are railing on my favorite coaster color scheme! I love the bright green and blue. In fact I like the bright colors on any coaster. It makes it stand out and gives it a crisp clean look. If you look at that first picture of Jester at SFNO it looks nice and clean for an older coaster. Then again, color preferences are in the eye of the beholder.

Certain victory.

The *old* paint job WAS orange....I kinda liked it that way cause an old paint job on an old Anton just says to the GP "go ride something else"....shorter lines for ME! :)

With the mouse going up next door, and the touch-ups done around Timbuktu, I guess that means more rides on Montu for me...assuming there's more than ONE train on the ride...;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

The new paint reminds me of Superman. I think Orange and Black would have been nice.
Yeah, I was there when they were painting it a couple weeks ago... So, unfortunately I wasn't able to ride it. But it doesn't look too bad now that it's done.

KTS - honestly, I love lime green and blue, too. I've just been critical of it ever since my graphic artist sister pointed out to me that it had been a "fad" color scheme in recent advertising (E*Trade and Palm, to name a few).

And I'm tolerant of blue and orange thanks to my alma matter. It's still fugly, though.

Toss-up: three coasters with blue at BGT, or Heide Park's green and white fetish (1, 2, 3)?

I also prefer the old colors, says scorpion more to me than the new Superman-like colors.
"I-L-L..."

Hrm...looks shiny and new with the paint, but red and blue just don't say "jungle" to me.

I think Scorpions reside in the desert more than jungles, Dawn-ey. But who am I? :D
Good point...

...but red and blue don't say "desert" (or even dessert) to me either. :-P

Dawn - when I saw the blue/orange awning in this picture, I immediately thought of the McDonald's on Green Street.

Hmm... I put "blue scorpion" into the Google image search, and I get pictures of a fish. Juh? I should try "red, yellow and blue mantis."

Wait... that's actually pretty hilarious.

Got a ride on the thing Saturday, its about 3/4 complete, just the lift stairs and brake run to finish, it is in a word bright, but it looks good, the color is that wonderful color that we will be having the orange/red debate about in a few years!

Dave Magnum Force-" I cant eat on an empty stomach!" Chirs -"what did you say" MF-I cant eat on an empty stom... Oh, Ride I mean Ride"

Alot of vekoma's had the green and white fetish. Look at Sea Serpent in Wildwood, or Whirlwind at Knoebels to name a few. Also 2 out of 3 coasters you reffered to are vekomas
