BGT:New for 2005

I was just wondering what the speculation was for the new coaster that is slated to be introduced in 2005 at BGT, has anyone else heard of it?

Lots of speculation/info in this thread

Lots of people seeming to think it will be a Dive Machine huh? Hyper sounds more correct to me cause that's just about the last flavor of coaster the park does not have. That'd be so awesome having Apollo's Chariot in Florida!

Umm...do they have a Dive machine none of us have heard about?

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Fabio's Chariot is cool, but I'd rather have a Ride of Steel *when* we get a hyper...(currently, that looks like a 2008 install at the EARLIEST for FL, not that I'm thrilled with the prospect).

The dive machine concept is cool, but aren't there, like, 49 other states where you can dig a hole without having it fill with water? ;) I've given some serious credence to the Dive Machine rumors, and would be VERY surprised if it turned out otherwise....the "Taiwan and England being two countries with similar rides" thing being the biggest *hint*. That to me was pretty clear and convincing evidence.

I'll be very satisfied regardless...:)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

So Gater are you hinting @ BGT getting a hyper for their 8th coaster possibly in 2008? (Dive machine being the 7th). Give me a "Fabio's Chariot" over ANY coaster in FL with the exception of DBH as being the possible best coaster in FL. Unless it is braked to death a B&M floating airtime filled speedcoaster is the best possible thing that could possibly happen in FL! The B&M trains on RB are by far the very best steel rolling stock I've ridden. Much better than the cramped trains I've ridden on MF @ CP! *** Edited 6/22/2004 7:49:20 AM UTC by Pink Floyd Fanatic***

A sly declaration of new classics slipped into a list of old safe ones... very p*ssy!

jk, its from a movie... can anyone name it??

PFF, I'm not saying we'll get a hyper at BGT *in* 2008, but I'll go out on a SHORT limb and say we won't be getting any *major rides* for at least another 3-year stretch. Busch's self-imposed building hiatus seems to have come to an end, but this Dive Machine is a MAJOR expenditure, and they're also pumping some cash into the Sea World parks....so generally, BGT has made their selection for this particular "round" of expenditures.

No other BIG parks in FL are outside the Orlando area, so they're all stuck with the FIRM 200' FAA ceiling...hmmmm, then again, Steel Eel was under 200'...;)

I don't KNOW anything, but business sense dictates that FL will go another 3 years, minimum, before seeing a hyper....having been on *almost all* of the US hypers, I'll take an Intamin, thanks....:)

P.S. What we could use at BGT in one of those "lean years", if anyone at Busch is interested, is a Sally-brand (TM) dark ride...;)

Its actually about on schedule for BGT to get a major new coaster.

Their major ride installation schedule runs on 3 year increments:

1993 Kumba, 1996 Montu, 1999 Gwazi

2002 (or so) Rhino Rally (major ride)

2005 unnamed, rumored B&M Dive Machine

The Florida ride installation market runs on its own schedule and doesn't really get pressured. Exceptions to this include Disney, who recently started reacting to Universal (with Space, Expedition: Everest, etc).

Universal should be on schedule to install something new in IoA soon (2005-2006) but that depends on its new ownership.

Sea World is a possible spot for something new, their schedule is based on overall improvements, Kraken was a 2000 install, overall park improvements including the refurbishment of the tower area over the past few years, building Discovery Cove, etc. so they have a scheduling spot open for 2006 or 2007. I'd probably say 2006 in order to avoid conflicting with the new BGT ride in 2005.

Have Fun!

George

Forgive me if I seem confused...but wasn't BGW supposed to be getting a new coaster in 2005? Or am I just insane?

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

They are building *something* at BGW...coaster or not, that's to be determined.

JC

OMG I have a new sig!!!
195' tall is close enough for a hyper for me especially if it can go below ground level like Montu.
