BGT

I may be heading down to IOA and BGT for spring break, just curious, is Rhino Rally, worth riding?  Also, does the ride get you wet at all?  Lastly, should I expect large crowds at BGT?
NO! IT IS NOT WORTH RIDING! Sorry for yelling, but don't bother with it, especially if there is a line. The wildlife is not thrilling, and the water part is boring. The only people who got wet on my car were the back row. They didn't get too wet, just a little, and if you are on the left side of the car you're left side gets damp, but thats it. IMO, the ride sucks, and thats an understatement. If I was BGT, I would be very disappointed with it, not only is the loading procedure horrible (so horrible it's hard to explain, because I didn't understand it one bit), but the ride itself was boring.

As for crowds then, I have no clue. I went in the middle of January, with no crowds... but sadly, Rhino Rally was a 45 minute wait (and for a comparison, Montu was a walk on)

When I went to BGT, the water part of the ride messed up half way through our wait in-line.  That sucked but I did enjoy the ride because I love animals.  The loading procedures work pretty well.  The staff was great and the line moved better than I thought.

If you're just a thrill seeker and don't care for animals, you most likely will be disappointed.

LTLWcbYbe said it exactly right – "If you're just a thrill seeker and don't care for animals, you most likely will be disappointed."

Personally, I loved the ride. You get some fairly good views of the animals, and the water section was enjoyable (you don’t get wet). A lot depends on the driver – the script is your typical "corny jokes"… if the driver can improvise and deliver the jokes well it adds greatly to the experience.

Overall, if you want a coaster… this ain’t it, if you want Disney’s Animal Kingdom Safari… this ain’t it, but it walls somewhere nicely in-between.

Been twice since RR (seems IOA has taken my business, not getting use of my Busch Pass)....neither time was the "water section" working.  Considering what's at IOA, I'll pretty much go for Gwazi.....(not that Montu and Kumba won't warrant a spin or two)....;)
I have a similar question. Would Sea World FLA be worth going to over IOA?

Sweet lord no.  In my opinion, and probably most people's opinion, there is just about no park in the world worth going to over IOA except maybe a very elite few.

Drachen Fire, RIP: 1992-1998 Dismantled 2002

I finally went on RR in January for the 1st time.  We got there early, and waited about 15 mins with about 20 people in front of us.  It seemed like the vehicles were few and far between.  There was also no organization whatsoever.  They need a ride attendant assigning people to the vehicles in order to avoid the chaos.

Anyways, I guess the closest comparison is the safari ride at Animal Kingdom.  The difference is that at AK, you are in their habitat but the animals are far away, where at BGT they are crammed in a little area right next to you.

It wasn't as bad as people say, but I wouldn't wait in a long line for it either.  The water part was boring, and I didn't get wet, and I didn't want to.  If you sit by the driver you won't get wet.  Be sure not to miss the Scorpion though!  I love this intense Anton machine!!!

Its not worth more than five minutes in line. And almost is not worth the time it takes to ride it.

I just typed my soul onto this computer and when I tried to submit it,  it (my soul) got erased and the terms of  use or whatever it's called came up.  The short version of what I said was:

I got there early.  RR was closed.  It opened.  I rode it.  The spieler sucked.  I was VERY disappointed.

I figured it out.  You have to read it again and at the bottem click the I agree button.  Whatever.

So The spil went something like this:

"Uhh, Over ther is some ducks...Uhh and over there is some crocodiles...Uhh this is the part where we get rained on...Uhh This is the part where we drive onto that misterious reappering bridge...Uhhh Okay...Somebody might get wet bacause there is a waterfall...Uhh here is the supprise ending where we drive back onto land."

I agree dankding, Scorpion is another masterpiece from Anton.  Great view from top of the lift, only problem is you're unable to pick your seat due to the loading platform being too narrow.  Seems like the access road on the opther side has plenty of room, maybe someday we'll get to load on the far side of the ride and wait for the front row...and Gwazi will duel...and we'll get a CCI oiut-and-back....do I have to wake up...

What are the lines at BGT going to be like this Friday and Saturday do you think?  Is the park worth my two days of going there, or should I leave and not go the second day?

Lake Compounce: New England's Holiday World

Well, I'm an animal lover (I spent quite a bit of time at both BGT and Seaworld looking at the animal displays), but I didn't like Rhino Rally.  Mainly I'm concerned that some day one of these "drive a Jeep through a "safari" " rides is going to kill an animal that wanders too close to the vehicle.

167 coasters and hopes to be over 200 by the end of 2002 :)

I don't understand RR.  Is it just jeeps being driven freely?  Or are there tracks that they follow?

You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."

No tracks on RR, that's why they had the "incident" - THAT driver was "reassigned"...  I have to agree with GregLeg that *eventually* either a guest or an animal will get hurt on one of these rides....and the lawsuits will follow if it's a guest...
Rollergator: if you ask the ride ops on Scorpion, they'll let you wait for front or back.  The front is better becuase of the hang time, but the g's are very odd in the back, especially when you get whipped out of the loop!  I guess BT is following a trend - If you ask, we'll let you do it. Examples:  rerides on Gwazi w/ no line (or any ride for that matter), dueling on Gwazi (sometimes this works), and now seating on Scorpion!  Now if they'll only change the loading procedure on Gwazi when I ask!

ditto: A second day at BGT this time of year is pretty unnecessary.  I've been a couple times recently and the lines were nonexistant (except for Gwazi, which can take 20 mins for a 3 train wait!).
