better design of X at beginning

Would X have been have had few structural issues if they had put the car in the center (pipeline style) and supported it on the outer edges by track? This would have distributed the weight on 2 sets of track. But I guess you would have lost the flying over nothing sensation. Maybe B&M or Intamin will approach a 4d in this manner.

They did not want to enclose anything. Depending on how the track was designed it may have worked, but you still have to keep both rails in gauge, and there's no way to do that without crossties. If they had put seats in the center, SFMM would have nothing more than a floorless with spunk. I'm sure those who have been on it can attest at the importance of outside seats.

The ride is able to work, it just has some over looked flaws.(*gasp*) Basically the trains need to be stronger than previously thought. Oh, and people say there are stress cracks, I dont believe it though. Have you seen how supported that ride is? Have you noticed that they put the design through a computer first? I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I think the problems are with the trains, not the track, not the supports.
