Best way to conquer PKD?

Anyone know the best way to hit everything @ PKD? I'll be there Wed, Aug 28th. Has Hypersonic been running at a constant lately? Any details about this park are appreciated.

(My prime targets ate Volcano, Hypersonic and Shockwave)

-----------------
Hey man. Wanna buy some weed? Crack? Freepass on Millennium Force? I got the hook up...

Arrive 40 minutes before opening. Head straight to Hypersonic. Then go to the other side of the park to volcano. The rest of the rides are walk on - 10 minute waits.

If you cant get to the park before openning, wait for hypersonic to break down, and then wait for it to reopen and join the line then.

Hypersonic first, then Ricochet and Shockwave. After that cross to the opposite side of the park and do Flight of Fear, Anaconda, and Avalanche. Then you will have to wait for Volcano.

Do not ride the wooden coasters in the morning, they never build up lines. Knock out the steel coasters that will get lines. Do not bother going right from Hypersonic to Volcano, as many people still go to Volcano right away and the line will already be long. Take the time to wait for the front on Hypersonic and especially Volcano. If you stay the whole day, try to ride Volcano in pitch black, it is even better.

Disclaimer, while waiting for the park to walk you to Hypersonic, you should be able to hear it or see it running through its far turn. If you do not see this, you may want to consider turning around and heading for Volcano.

Best way to conquer PKD? Drive past it and head to BGW. ;)

I really had a GREAT time at PKD on this last trip....Ricochet, Hypersonic, Ghoster Coaster (finally!), and yes, Taxi Jam (no kids needed) added four rides to "the count".....Ricochet was a very good mouse, the drop in the beginning was a big plus for me. The staff was excellent and friendly.....the ONLY "poor" employee was the lady training a guy at Stan Mikita's (enough of Wayne's World already)...rude to the guy she was training AND to us, but nothing horrible...EVERYONE else was excellent. Hypersonic was pretty much what we expected.....DO wait for the front row. Volcano is a good solid ride.....got four spins AT closing time....(we were only there 6-10).

Grizzly was plain awful, and Rebel Yell's forward side was not any better. Hurler and, to a lesser extent, RY backward were much better, still nothing great...a park with that much wood track really should do a better job maintaining it!

As I've said MANY times, it's the people that make or break the park experience, and PKD's employees, at least that day, were top-notch..... The whole park improved considerably over our last visit....even if they don't let you *bump* the flyers....

edit: Shockwave, for whatever reason, was truly AWFUL....I rode the back seat....go to the front for your *one spin*...

OK, what I said wasn't fair. I like PKD, I just like BGW better and they're so close.

Grizzly ran well last time I jumped on, but Rebel Yell is the one that I just assume never ride again. So similar to PKI's Racer yet so bad.

In my experience your biggest gambles are Volcano and Hypersonic, both of which seem unpredictable as far as uptime goes.

I'm heading there either tomorrow or Saturday, so I will heed the advice to head for Hypersonic first. Unfortuately it will be a weekend, so I know the park will be packed.

i have found that its best to ride volcano first. last time i went, previous times this season, and last season(PKD is my home park), volcano always tends to have a longer wait. you are going on a wendsday, which should also help alot.

my suggestion is to hit volcano first. then walk the short distance and get a few walk-on rides on FoF. after FoF, walk towards hypersonic and ride shockwave on the way. after shockwave, get your ride on hypersonic.

also, shockwave's line goes dead around 8:00 - 9:00 if you are staying late enough. if you ride shockwave in the evening, you probably wont have to wait more than a few trains.

ricochet normally doesnt exceed a 30 min wait. anaconda never exceeds a 5 min wait(unless its an extremely busy day). hurler is usually a walk on, but crowds sorta come and go on that ride. rebel yell and grizzly usually keep a constant 10 - 15min wait.

on the side of all that, hypersonic, volcano and FoF are all best in the front seat. if you only ride one of them in the front, make it volcano.

enjoy your trip!!

Hate to say it WoodenCyclone, but its part of the TOS. But thank you for the info.

"I own you!"
"SUCKA!!!!!!!"
-quotes I have been known to exclaim on coasters.

Not trying to be mean, Wooden Cyclone. But, this is a grown up site....see the first section of the TOS. Spelling and grammar are required. Besides, fewer people will read a post with no paragraph breaks and atrocious spelling and grammar.
