Best way from CP -> BeastBuzz

I'll be attending both Costermania & Beast Buzz and was wondering what is the best route to take from CP -> PKI? This will be my first time to CP & my first time driving to PKI (was there about 12 years ago or so). Thanks for any help.
In Sandusky get on route 2 west to route 4 south to 98 south to 23 south (these roads may not be highways, but noone is on them most of the time so you can drive quickly) then from 23 south take 270 east to 71 south........and PKI is off 71 south.......it may seem like a lot but just look at an Ohio map and it isn't.....

St Rt 6 to I-75 south to Tylersville Rd.

Rte 4 to the Ohio Turnpike to 75 then south to Tylersville Rd. You will be able to make up more time on the TP and 75.

Why take 75 when 71 runs right next to the park??

The best way is:
-Take Route 4 all the way to Route 98 (watch the signs in the town of Bucyrus).
-Take 98 to U.S. Route 23.
-Take 23 south to Interstate 270 (Columbus outerbelt), and take that east for just a couple miles to Interstate 71.
-Take 71 south for the next 90 minutes and you're there.

EDIT: oops, just realized Patrick said the same thing. Oh well, mine's more organized. ;)

I was looking at a map and 75 looked like a lot of backtracking, that's why I asked if there was anybody with a good route. Thank you.
Routes 98 and 4 are not interstates, but they are completely flat and straight, so you should have no problem passing slow drivers. Once you hit 23 it's interstate for a while, then about 15 minutes of stop lights. That section should be the only slow part of your trip, unless you hit traffic in Bucyrus.

Den's right about OH98 & OH4 not being interstates, but if you get behind the occasional slow driver, that's not a fun route. I'm probably taking the OH6-OH53-OH12-I 75 route.

Why would you go through Toledo?? That's probably about 50-60 miles out of the way. Same goes with 250-I71. I would suggest either the Findlay (6-52-12-I75) or Bucuyrus (4-98-23-I71) route.

Here's another option:

-take 250 to the turkpike and take that to Hopkins International.
-get a cheap flight from Cleveland to Cincinnati.
-connect in Houston.
-arrive in Cincinnati, rent car, drive north on 71 to PKI.

Estimated travel time: 22 hours. ;)

Den suggested:

OH-4 South to Bucyrus
continue straight on OH-98 to Waldo
turn left to US-23 to Worthington
IR-270 East to IR-71

There are two problems with this:
Problem #1: US-23 immediately north of IR-270 is AWFUL.

Problem #2: Taking IR-71 from the North of Columbus will take you through the gawdawful IR-70/71 split through the middle of Downtown Columbus.

The solution is easy.

Proceed as above, but take US-23 to OH-750 (I think that's the number). That's Powell Rd. or Polaris Parkway, depending on which way you turn; there is a Meijer store on your right. Turn right at that intersection and go down the hill and across the river to OH-315. Turn left on OH-315 and take OH-315 South through Columbus. When you get downtown, continue straight through as the road becomes IR-71 South.

If it is 'rush hour' you don't want to do this because the intersection of Powell Rd. and OH-315 is messy, more messy than US-23 between 750 and 270. In that case, take US-23 all the way to IR-270, but go *west* one exit to OH-315 South.

From Cedar Point to the North Broadway exit from OH-315 is about 105 miles. From that point to Kings Island is about 88 miles.

I'm from Sandusky area and go to college in Cincinnati. I usually take US 250/OH 13 south out of Sandusky. Take OH 13 to the right when it splits off in Fitchville. Get on IR 71 South in Mansfield and take it all the way down to Cincinnati. You can take 270 to the west to hit OH 315 like Dave suggests, but at the right time of day, the downtown I-70/71 split isn't too bad.

I can make this trip in about 3 hours and 30 minutes to campus, so PKI would be about 20 minutes less.

WHAT?!?! You people are crazy! The easiest way from CP to PKI is to call up the PKI Sky Tour and have them come pick you up straight from CP and fly you down.

I can't believe no body thought of that. *shakes head*
