Best Route Dayton Ohio to Cedar Point

I am leaving St. Louis Missouri tomorrow morning and heading to CP. What is the best route once I get on I-75 in Dayton?
Best way from dayton and I-75 would to take 75N to US 6 (Bowling Green Exit) and follow US 6 to Sandusky and follow the signs.

Thanks for the info. How long should it take me from Dayton?
Mapquest calls for 3.5 hrs if you take 75 to the Ohio turnpike. I would guess 3 hours then.
Thanks

I'm not sure you'll save much time (you might lose some) if you take US6 instead of the 'pike. The exchange for US 6 in BG is only about 10 miles from the exchange with 'pike. Wave to me as you go by.

p.s. I'm not sure what the construction on the 'pike is. You may want to check http://www.dot.state.oh.us/

Well, pretty much every road in OH is in a state of decay or being worked on, so give yourself extra time. Also, bring some $$ for the tolls, they're ridiculous.
From Dayton? Well, I took that trip Sunday and made it in 3 hrs. Of course that was having the cruise set to 80mph all the way up 75. On average, it's 3.5 to 4 hrs drive from Dayton doing the speed limit.

I probably will do around 80 as well. Thanks to everyone for their info.

Rush 2112,

Are you aware that it's against the law to drive 80 mph in Ohio.

So are you saing that you only go 55-65 M.P.H. depending on what part of the highways your on? Whats wrong with going 80? Thats what Expressways are for.

I take 75 to Findlay, then SR 12 thru Fostoria, and catch US 6 in Fremont that is the shortest route,

Whats life if you never get to the Po!nt?

kneemeister, i go the same way, i get to Cp in 3.5 hours- 4.5 hours. normally around 4 from Cincinnati.
What's wrong with going 80mph? I can't believe you actually asked such a question. Here is what is wrong with it, it's against the law! Some people believe that there are also arguments such as safety and fuel consumption to be considered also. I live in Michigan, the speed limit on most highways is 70, so no I don't drive 55-65 every where although I used to when that was the speed limit. Are you implying in your message that there's something wrong with obeying the law? Do you have the same cavalier atittude with other laws? I'll make sure that all my doors are locked when I'm around you.

Only if you get caught... ;) While I do not condone speeding, we all do it sometime. I'll be the first to admit to it. There's no need to be a vigilante about it, though. As long you drive in a safe fashion, any speed is good, especially if your tryig to get to CP. ;)

Floor it. If you're going to go the speed limit, stay out of the left lane. ;)
