Best hyper for 2001?

NITRO will be the best easily. it looks to be a damn good ride... i dont think Titan will be better...it seems lame to what Nitro has to offer.

I would say Nitro because, Phantom's Revenge is not a hyper (first hill has to be 200ft plus. Not my opinion, just going by the original). Then I would say the clone, Titan. Titan looks tight, I think Goliath is tight too. I am still trying to get a ride on it.

Jephry, how can Stealth be your worst coaster when you haven't ridden it. It's not in your track record. Oh, I see. You said "Project Stealth". What the heck is that? ;)

And who said there were rules to a hyper besides *a* 200 ft. drop or height? I think another rule is no inversions. I'm not sure though.

Anyway, Nitro definitely looks like the winner.

An Honest opinion from someone who has only been on one hyper(Mamba). And has no reservations towards the three, Nitro looks the best out of the three. However Titan looks far more intriguing than Phantoms Revenge and is not that far behind Nitro.

A Hyper coaster is a coaster which has a drop greater than 200 ft has no inversions and is all about speed, airtime and a few g-forces in the turnarounds. X does not qualify. Phantoms Revenge does. Any other coaster that has a drop greater than 200 feet is that type of coaster, just a really tall one. Any other coaster which meets all of these standards with the exception of the 200ft drop is one of two things a woodie or Steel Eel, which I refer to as a Junior Hyper. Millennium Force is also a hyper just a really really tall one!!!
Does that sum it up?

#1 Steel-Incredible Hulk
#1 Wood--Timber Wolf
MF is a giga.
Nitro is taking how the spot for #1 its just the best all out phantoms revenge looks so stail! and so short of a ride! please give it to nitro #1 titan #2 phantoms revenge #3
Oy...

Don't talk about what you don't know. I have ridden Stealth, and I am sure that you know when it was being built it was referred to as "Project Stealth." I went to california this summer, bought a WOW Card. Then I went on a weekday where there was not a lot of people. Waited in a short line. The only problem is that Paramount's Great America isn't every good at dispatching trains on any of there roller coasters so the lines move very slow. Got on the ride and I would have to say Top Gun is a better ride. Stealth is Slow and Short. Now you know I rode it. Next time know your facts

When I said Phantom's Revenge is not a hyper its because it doesn't fit the definition. When I say hyper I referr to Arrow Dynamics creation of Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point. Because it is the FIRST HYPER roller coaster, then you cannot say the drop has to be 200+ because Magnum's drop is 194.8. So the definition of HYPER, by Arrow Dynamics cannot be 200+ drop. It must have a height of 200+ feet.

Well, no more hyper status for Apollo's Chariot I guess! Darn, and all this time I was calling it a hypercoaster...thanks for correcting the situation Jephry!

JC, wondering why this thread isn't closed yet
