Best Head Chopper Effect

I would have to say The Great Canadain Minebuster at PCW. On the way back going under the water slides there are some pretty good "choppers".

Ninja at SFStL definitely!
Does anybody remember back in 2000 when a piece of wood fell off GhostRider and hit a rider? Talk about head chopping!

Gold Rusher at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Anybody who's been on it knows that the first drop features 2-3 hand-choppers which if you have long enough arms... you can hit your hands pretty hard!

Am I the only one who ducks and buries my head in the lap of the person next to me going into the final tunnels and helix on The Beast? I almost refuse to ride, because that scares me so bad sometimes. =^p I think the most fun headchoppers are the ones on Gemini. For some reason I always forget they're there, then I'm pleasantly surprised.

For me its the lethal head chopper on SROS at SFDL. Everybody drops their hands and that part.

Sim Simma....who got the keys to ma Beema!!

Ya the final helix turns on Beast get me freaked everytime I ride it!

Ninja at SFSTL has head choppers???? I've ridden this coaster at least 100 times and NEVER noticed what I call a Head chopper.
Just a couple of G-Force junkies!

Look up after the Sidewinder.

Best Coasters in My Area:
Wood: The Boss
Steel: Batman: The Ride

I really like the first drop on Villain @ SFWoA for this, the excessive amount of supports make it look like the train has nowhere to go when it first crests the drop, it's particularly cool from the back seat because you get the classic full speed yank over the drop before you can see anything other than a maze of supports in front of you.

* The Legend @ HW
* Superman: Ride of Steel @ SFNE
* Mondial Top Scan
Millennium Force has a great hand chopper in the first turn, and Adventure Express has some great head choppers.

"Ruba dub dub, thanks for the grub...yay god!"

i agree with koaster king... the drop into the tunneled helix does have that sweet headchopper, especially if you sit on the left side. other coasters that i think have good headchoppers have already been mentioned... space mountain at WDW gets me every time and phantoms revenge under the T-Bolt does too

I'm all about wooden coasters and disney parks! top 3 wood: Thunderbolt, Hurler(carowinds), and Beast

PR on the big drop and exiting the first helix on S:RoS SFDL and S:RoS SFA.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?

Gemini, Beast, and Thunderbolt. Somebody got it backwards up above. PR doesn't have that great of a headchopper effect when it goes through Thunderbolt, but when Thunderbolt goes under PR, watch out! Talk about freaky. Kennywood put a pad on the track for God's sake...that should tell you something!

I get the feeling there's a conspiracy over at King's Island to remove anything that has "K" or "C" in its initials.

Shame on you rollergator for not mentioning Cheetah's second hill! One of my favorite head chopper effects I've seen!

Another great one is on Gemini at Cedar Point, Sit in the back, You'll find it :)

Chuck, saying Legend ought to be a contender this year :)

Americana is opening in 2002 and needs your support as many company picnics are already schedualed for someplace else, Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

Somehow, a headchopper seems incredibly appropriate on The Legend, considering the theme.

I forgot about Mamba's and SD2K's helixes those were some cool head choppers.

I hear that on Colossus (the 10 inversion coaster) the last inline twist brings rider's heads 45 cm from the floor. must be pretty nasty!
Gotta agree with Gemeni, i have probably rode that thing 100's of times and I duck every time. FOF is up there too, just enough light in the dome to make you scared to death to put your hands up on, only coaster I have been too scared to put my hands up on.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

speaking of colossus, there are 4 great headchoppers on that ride. the second one is the best. the track curves up and you get a bit of air time off the hill. also, there is a shop window at the same level as the top of the hill, so it looks like you are just about to go in through the shop window until you dive down below the shop and almost hit the wall. it is great! this is a picture taken from looking out of this shop window:

and here is one of the best handchopper effects ever:
