Best flat rides (w/ status) at SFGAdv?

I have heard that SF Great Adventure has a great collection of flat rides, but I do not know what they have. What are the best flat rides there, what are they, and are they operational right now? (Please do not turn this into a thread about staffing issues)

Best Flat Rides:

Jumpin Jack Flash, Mase, Evolution, Twister

Evolution! Evolution! Evolution!

You mean the "NEVERlution" since it has only operated a few times since being installed in 1999.

What is the Houdini ride?

What type of ride is Evolution?

I hear Lo-Q is almost ready. When is it coming online? (though if the pricing is the same as other parks I will not be a user)

Go for the Harry Houdini (SP?) ride, I love it, that, maybe this isn't there, but, Dino Island, I love it.

Just did a major update on my site, http://www.geocities.com/coaster_m_and_m_18/index.html

Jumpin Jack Flash is a must.

Houdini is OK. It gives the illusion you go upside-down but you don't.

Jumping Jack Flash, Evolution, Twister, Time Warp, Looping Starship, and Freefall are my favorites.

Houdini's Great Escape is surprisingly well done too.

If you want to look up the ride types to get an idea of what they're like: Houdini is a Mad House (I think Vekoma), Jumping Jack Flash is a Huss Jump, Evolution is one of only a few (three if I remember correctly and the only permanent one in the world), Twister is a Top Spin, and Time Warp is a Sky Flyer type rde where the cars rotate in the opposite direction of the arms.

I haven't been there this year, but generally all of the rides with the exception of Evolution are operational. I don't know the status of Evolution, but I've been on it twice and it's my favorite flat of all time.

Evolution isn't open. All the others are. Evolution is my fav flat though so im mad its not open:(

there is no more time warp it was removed to install a stupid stage
Time Warp is removed and the space shuttle is closed. The park just needs another drop ride to round out the flat rides. I think a intamin stand up gyro drop will be good. What happened to that Alcatracs ride? I wish Neverlution will open it is taken up space for I don't know what reason.

Jump (Freefall/Jumpin' Jack Flash), when it's open, is the best ride in the park :)

The Frisbee is nice, too. Ride it at night, right before the park closes. They'll turn the lights off.

The Breakdance (Rodeo?) is fun, too, even if they don't run it as intensely as they could.

The Mad House (Houdini's Great Escape) is also fun. However, the stupid teenagers who don't shut up are kinda annoying. I almost wish they'd fall into that bottomless pit.

I love Jumpin' flash. I would count it as my favorite flat ride. But I haven't done Never-loution yet. As a matter of fact, I haven't been on the Frisbie yet either. Or Houdini, or a lot of the other flats they have . Maybe I will get brave and vist them sometime when SF is open and not just pretending to be open..

Oopps...I don't mean to sound that way. I guess I got carried away. My real point is that Jump is GREAT and I LOVE IT!!! I wish other parks would instal this ride. I would like to see it as a staple flat ride like scrambler or Pirate Ship:)

Best working flat rides: JJF, Pendulum, Houdini, Rodeo Stampede, Parachutes, Twister and Dino Island. Space Shuttle could make a return this year as I've heard it does work. They just need some parts to fix the restraints which have proven difficult to find.
I'm sorry to hear about the shuttle and Time Warp. A shame, but there's plenty of other rides to go on there. Dexter, you definitely should go on those rides. Most of them are more comfortable than they look and not as violent as you'd think. The Twister (Top Spin) is a perfect example if you've never been on one before.

Am I thinking of a different ride? I thought Jumpin Jack Flash was the worst ride! It hurt your back and you couldn't even feel the drops. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. Yeah I've been to SFGAdv. 3 times in 3 years and Evolution has NEVER been open. Is it cool?
the Rodeo Stampede, next to Viper, is an awesome littel flat ride. If the Ops run it at an intense spped, its pretty insane. If you chat " faster!faster!" whiles its goin, they sometimes speed it up. Thats happened to me a bunch of times.
Does anyone have any photos of these rides?

Thanks thrillfan. I am not really to concerned about comfort or vilonce. I hardly complain about rough or uncomfortable rides because I am tough about things like that:) I just want the rides to be open. I haven't been in quite a while because I am worried that I will make the 6 hour drive and half of the rides will be closed. Can you tell that I have been burned by SFGAdv before? I hear it is much better now.

Maybe next season I will get up the nerve and visit them.

rentzy387, I didn't have that problem on Jump. I thought the drops were incredible. I love being stuck to the back of your seat AND getting airtime. WOOHOO!!!

I hear that Jump is very unreliable and is subject to mechanical failure more often than other rides. I hope Huss has improved this aspect of operation in future models.

Ride IT, The ride you are speaking of is a breakdance (like Chernabog said in an earlier post). I rode one at the Central Florida Fair last summer and it was very fun. It did make me a little sick though but I rerode it anyway. Didn't ride the one at SFGAdv yet because...well you know.

No offense to anyone. SFGAdv will ,if they are not already, be a great park some day .
