Well, Millenium Force seems to be the winner here. Since I haven't ridden the coaster yet and probably won't anytime soon, I shall say my favorite coaster is the best of the year. Medusa at Six Flags Marine World is the best. Actually, it's in a dead-even tie with Goliath at Magic Mountain. Both coasters are very well designed and very very smooth. Peace. :)
Right now, it is Son of Beast, because that is the only new coaster that I have been on this year, but I am going to Cedar Point Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and may be changing my mind.

Batman Knight Flight (SFO) is AWESOME!!! Sorry but, it blows all the others away, although Medusa (SFGA) is pretty awesome too! MF was awesome for its speed, but that's it, not enough to warrant the best coaster of the year.
MF. My second ride on MF (second seat front car) was the most intense, wonderful ride I've ever had. I was grinning from ear to ear for an hour after I got off of it. I've just never experienced that kind of speed and WIND on a ride ever. I got great airtime on all the hills and the pressure in your seat on the overbanks is incredible.

Sorry, neither of the two 2000 coasters I've ridden are perfect 10's. It's truely hard to find a ride that would receive such a vote. All rides seem to have at least some flaw in them. Too bad ROAR west isn't new. So having said this i will place my vote for GOLIATH over Medusa. The drop into the tunnel is just so sweet.

My favorite new coaster this year that I have been on is Millennium Force, without a doubt. This ride is incredible, and surprisingly smooth. The view is great thanks to the tiered seating and open sided cars. I was very pleased with this ride. Cedar Point and Intamin did a good job on this one.

After 22 rides on MF this year nothing else can compare to it!!!!! Front seat really rocks. Going over the top at 310 feet and getting that great view of the drop. WOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!
I'm not even excited about SOB even though I will be going Aug, 15th to PKI.
Definitly MF. But lightning racer runs a really, really, really, close second.

We've been on MF, SOB, The Legend, The Boss, Superman Kyrpton, SUE, The Villain and Batman KF this year and the Lightning Racers gets our vote hands down. What a blast !!!

I agree with Reveloutionary. Califronia and Ohio were the places to be especially Califronia. With 3 out of 5 CA big time parks adding big time rollercoasters it was a great year. Stealth, well if you read my trip report you know how that went.. Medusa is the most intiminating site there is. Goliath is SWEET! Roar West also would of been one of the best rides of the year if it came this year.
MF , that ride was pure ectasy, a non stop rush that left me speechless afterwards for over an hour. The cool thing was that the ride was so loud whild riding it that i couldnt even hear myself scream :)
