Besides CP/MM how many parks could go over 400

What do you know that we don't?

You're right. I'm wrong. You're pretty. I'm ugly. You're smart and I'm stupid :)

Nothing.

Michael Jenkins, even though Stan says he can do it, doesn't mean he will. He may have the technology, but the decision is up to the park.

i believe there could easily be a 400 + footer in las vegas
If Stan wanted to build something that beats TTD's records, whats to stop him from constructing something at his testing facility in Utah?

A coaster doesn't have to be in a park to break records.

He did it with Hypersonic and now it resides at PKD.

I think the next over 400 will be in Asia. It makes Japan crazy (as does it America) not to have the title of tallest, fastest, etc.

You know everything about a coaster in Ohio. Ask yourself this. Can you name any of the "Democratic Canidates" for President?

There could be a 400-foot ride in Vegas. However, Clark (I believe that is the county Vegas is in) has some of the toughest and expensive ride requirements in the country. IIRC they are classified as buildings or structures, so they are inspected as such, which means that there is a lot more red tape and codes that have to be followed to get one up and running. It is really a miserable place to try and get a ride built.

Not really. It took 8 years for them to top Magnum. SD2000 was not concieved to beat MF, it just happened to. It was in planning in early 1998.

Of course they like their big rides, but they don't build them as a reaction to ours.

Gadv has a height limit of 250 feet i believe, I know it can't reach a 300 no matter what
With 2 air forces bases by SFGADV i don't think they can go very high. I always see planes coming in all the time.

Any park can go over their restrictions as long as they take it to the city council. I know SFGAm can build something over the sky trek height as long as they get the ok by the Gurnee City Council.
I don't know about the American and Asian parks, but in terms of the UK's, I don't think any will even try to go over 250ft in the near future - let alone 400.

BPB already has a ride that grabs peoples attention from miles around so I don't think it will 'waste' money building another - well, at least not a coaster. If it is true that the park has been speaking to S&S and Intamin about a future coaster I believe the park might try and set a speed record instead of a height as it will be cheaper to build (but still expensive though) and very marketable.

A more realistic park that might try and reach near to the 400ft mark is Fantasy Island in my opinion. It has already shown that it is prepared to spend huge amounts in return for biggish rides. The only stumbling block is that the park is on top of weak ground, i.e sand, which is why some of its recent attractions have been so expensive, as footers have had to be sent further down into the ground than usual. Also, as it is near to the sea the wind will have a great effect too.

Close but a little off.

SFGAm has to go before the Gurnee board for any structure over 125ft. Supposedly the park cannot build anything taller than Sky Trek Tower but of course that could change if the park really wanted it.

Coasters won't be going over 400 feet for a long time. Coasters going over 120mph is a lot more likly. S: TE and TTD all had many problems. The cars on S:TE doesn't even come close to 400' from understanding. TTD barly makes it over. Why create more problems if the rides all have problems.

CP Coaster Guide Ride Count
TTD: 3; WT: 11; MF: 7; Mantis: 4; Raptor: 7; Mean Streak: 7; Magnum: 6

Gomez, the cars on S:TE don't even climb 300feet! The terrain makes it a higher elevation above the ground.

I do agree with you, but I suspect that the new high speeds will come with rides like the new drag racers at Old Town

Black Pool is not getting any coaster over 400'. They may be the best park at putting rides in, but there is no way they have room for that, even if they put it above everything else, they still wouldnt have the room. I would really like to see a park put in a stratocoaster with a lift hill..but that would take up an insane amount of room...and an insane amount of money. But it would be so awesome.

Yes, the Superman cars do climb to an elevation past 300 feet. On average, they make it to a height of approximately 330 feet. Sometimes even higher.

There's a difference between climbing to 300' and climbing 300'.

I think any park that has a high "ceiling" and money to burn could be a contetant to break the 400ft barrier.

I traveled a total of 6 hrs just to ride TTD....and it was woth it........and then 2 weeks later......I traveled another 6 hours...just to ride it again!

coasterguy1, Blackpool have a lot more space than you give them credit for. It was on Spin Doctor, and a look around shows that by moving a few flat rides or removing unpopular things (Millennium Dome takes up a lot of space), it would open up a lot of space.

Frankly, I wouldn't have believed that they could fit in the Big One, and they did.

Regarding the Big One still being a crowd puller, kinda, but Blackpool's attendance hasn't been too good recently, so they need something to grab the headlines again.
