You're right. I'm wrong. You're pretty. I'm ugly. You're smart and I'm stupid :)
Michael Jenkins, even though Stan says he can do it, doesn't mean he will. He may have the technology, but the decision is up to the park.
A coaster doesn't have to be in a park to break records.
He did it with Hypersonic and now it resides at PKD.

You know everything about a coaster in Ohio. Ask yourself this. Can you name any of the "Democratic Canidates" for President?

I think the next over 400 will be in Asia. It makes Japan crazy (as does it America) not to have the title of tallest, fastest, etc.
Not really. It took 8 years for them to top Magnum. SD2000 was not concieved to beat MF, it just happened to. It was in planning in early 1998.
Of course they like their big rides, but they don't build them as a reaction to ours.

BPB already has a ride that grabs peoples attention from miles around so I don't think it will 'waste' money building another - well, at least not a coaster. If it is true that the park has been speaking to S&S and Intamin about a future coaster I believe the park might try and set a speed record instead of a height as it will be cheaper to build (but still expensive though) and very marketable.
A more realistic park that might try and reach near to the 400ft mark is Fantasy Island in my opinion. It has already shown that it is prepared to spend huge amounts in return for biggish rides. The only stumbling block is that the park is on top of weak ground, i.e sand, which is why some of its recent attractions have been so expensive, as footers have had to be sent further down into the ground than usual. Also, as it is near to the sea the wind will have a great effect too.

Any park can go over their restrictions as long as they take it to the city council. I know SFGAm can build something over the sky trek height as long as they get the ok by the Gurnee City Council.
Close but a little off.
SFGAm has to go before the Gurnee board for any structure over 125ft. Supposedly the park cannot build anything taller than Sky Trek Tower but of course that could change if the park really wanted it.

I do agree with you, but I suspect that the new high speeds will come with rides like the new drag racers at Old Town

Gomez, the cars on S:TE don't even climb 300feet! The terrain makes it a higher elevation above the ground.
Yes, the Superman cars do climb to an elevation past 300 feet. On average, they make it to a height of approximately 330 feet. Sometimes even higher.

Frankly, I wouldn't have believed that they could fit in the Big One, and they did.
Regarding the Big One still being a crowd puller, kinda, but Blackpool's attendance hasn't been too good recently, so they need something to grab the headlines again.
