Bell's must make its financial case to accountants

County Commissioner and fair board member Randi Miller on Tuesday offered Bell's Amusement Park another chance to make its case for staying at Expo Square. In a press release issued late Tuesday, Miller said she is requesting that Bell's allow three independent accountants to review its business plan and its answers to questions that the fair board has raised.

Thank you Jeff for keeping on top of this story. Hopefully these accountants will see the same positives the banks did when they loaned Bell's the money for the proposed two new rides they were going to install in 2007.

Would a business suffering from "financial instability" be involved in serious negotiations for a new ride?

A 5 today, KTUL is going to reveal some of the surrounding communites that look to be courting Bell's should something not work out with the fair grounds.

This is sounding all too familiar with what happened in Memphis between LL and the fair board there. Let's hope for the best. Zingo is a BLAST!

If I ever had respect for fair boards, the last year or so has shot it to hell.

It might make sense for Bells to give a big middle finger to the fair and move just so they won't have to deal with their crap anymore. But I would worry about certain portions of the current park not surviving the move very well. Look at Elitich Gardens!

I think financially if Bell's could move, they would have already done so. The Tulsa Fair attacts over 1 million visitors in one week. That is a lot of money that would be hard for Bell's to replace.

Both sides stand to lose so much because of this stand-off. Bell's needs the support of their fair to get the crowds they need to survive and the fair needs the huge draw of Bell's in order to justify their existance. Just another examples of what happens when blind, ignorant idiots get elected to office.
