Bell's In Trouble?

In today's Tulsa World it was reported that Tulsa County only gave Bells a 7 month extension on their lease with Tulsa County Fair Grounds. This would only take them through this year's state fair.

The Fair Board voted 3-1 to renew the lease with Bells, but not without discussion about possible termination of the lease. The board is not happy with the current condition of the park and are concerned for the safety of the patrons.

Robby Bell stated that the rides are inspected each year by the state and that the profits have been spent on fighting the neighbors to move forward with the construction of a new roller coaster.

Bells is also considering a move to south Tulsa (Jenks).

Personally I think Bells is in a very dire financial crisis and cannot afford the move, unless they find some substantial investors.

Tulsa County is becoming very aggressive in "cleaning" up the fair grounds and have made a purchase offer to Big Splash Waterpark to make it into additional parking. I could see them not renewing the Bell's lease so they could do the same there as well.
