Pun intended!
I used to be a, relatively active member here back in the day but I have not posted or even read much in a long time.
I haven't gone on a coaster, or even a ride, or even stepped into a park since 2005. I am so far out of the know, that it's difficult to play catch up.
What have I missed these past 6 years. Any industry-changing new coasters? Looking to get back into the fold, at least info wise. No trips planned until Nov of this year, and that is to Disney. Not sure what I'll go on though. Bad back and neck issues to deal with anymore. :(
Well, the fastest coaster is now in Dubai. The tallest wooden coaster is now in new jersey. Cedar Fair has a new CEO. Six Flags went bankrupt, the 'phoenixed' into a much better company. A massive theme park playground was planned for UAE, but the financial downturn of '08 put a kibosh on those plans.
I'd say you missed a lot of inside jokes, if it weren't for the fact that they all occurred in public.

Son of Beast lost its loop, then its operational status altogether.
Way out of the loop... :)
The tallest wooden coaster isn't in New Jersey yet...The best wooden coaster is in NJ, but the tallest is still in Ohio.
Well, the fastest coaster is now in Dubai.
No, it's not -- it's in Abu Dhabi, which is a different emirate.
I develop Superior Solitaire when not riding coasters.
Jeff had a baby.
LK and Gonch get along now.
Six Flags bought out Disney and has added a giant B&M looper clone to all the Disney parks and called them SuperMickey: Deck of Flight.
(Okay, I made that last one up.)
