Beech Bend Park: open? defunct?

I read in today's roller coaster rollback that in 1984 Beech Bend Park was auctioned off on this date.  I like looking up defunct parks and coasters, so I searched for it and found www.beechbend.com which states that the park is not only open (and has been since 1898), but recently installed a Pinfari Looping Star.
So, does anyone know the story of this park?  Did it close only to be "saved" and reopen?  Was it once big, and they auctioned 1/2 of it off to stay afloat?
Just wondering.

Here's what I've heard about BB... The owners auctioned it off.  New owners that purchased it have VERY slowly been adding things to it.  They revamped the water park in it, and from what I've heard, there are two coasters in the park now.  My fiance took her son up there earlier this summer and said they are really doing some renovating.  I've even heard through rumors that they plan next year to add a medium sized coaster.  Don't know what it might be.  I really hope BB makes a "come back".
The park is open and doing quite well. We went to there on July 29th and had a great time. There are two coasters in the park, a Dragon Wagon and a nice Looping Star, as well as some unusual flat rides,a nice kiddy area, go-carts, water slides, an arcade and a nice campground.

We had a nice chat with the park owner, who has plans for expansion in the future.
