Beech Bend confirms new coaster

The park announced yesterday that it is going to add a wooden roller coaster to its lineup in 2006, and even included a photograph of the park's owner shaking hands with employees of Great Coasters International (GCI) at the IAAPA show last month in Orlando, leaving us to believe that the coaster will be a GCI.

I've read something about an offspring of Thunderhead with a drop similar to the Rye Aeroplane first drop. My guess it that it may still be an original design including a trick or two from the Rye Aeroplane coaster. Or it still may be a duplicate of the original design.
I can see what I can do about the snowy Phoenix pictures Moosh. As soon as we get some snow, which will hopefully be late Febuary or later in the season..

Sounds good, Dan ;)
If it turns out that it is goign to be patterned after Aeroplane the wording used will probably be "Inspired by", I imagine it will be 1/2 Aeroplane 1/2 GCI tricks, while Aeroplane has definate similarities with GCI coasters it isn't completely like them, maybe to wild, despite what anyone says the GCI's I've ridden have never had an "Out of control" feel, they rock and are some of my fav's but they just aren't that wild.
Coasterkid must not have ridden Thunderhead or Ozark Wildcat yet huh?

Chuck, who thinks the new generation of GCI thrills has only just begun!

Insert Carpenters music in there :)
