The caricature guys at the front of the park, physically assaulted me an insisted I let them draw me. I'm sure you can imagine the crowd that gathered for that one!
Can I make that my new member photo, Jeff?
While I didnt participate in the Beast and Son of Beast tours, I did everything else and had an awesome time. I spent that time, instead, getting in some of the credits at the park and waiting in lines :) I picked up what I missed on Sunday and managed to get everything a childless adult can get in coasterwise.
HIGHLIGHTS:
The people. Got to meet some new people, saw some people I got to know pretty well at previous events, and generally just had a great time with everyone there. We had a really awesome group of people at this event. Everyone was still fired up at 11:30pm after a long day at the park for ERT. There was lots of hand-slapping, cheering, and most importantly, thanking of the ride operators at each ride.
PKI Staff: Everyone there was constantly upbeat and kept the energy level up the entire time we were there. Jeff did an excellent job of making us all feel welcome and with keeping us informed. I definately feel the park went WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY over and above my expectations for an event that cost me 40 bucks and included admission to the park.
Delirium: It was my first ride once I got into the park. I was scared watching it but ended up falling in love with the ride. Of all the pictures I took, there are more of this ride than any other. I hope they put more of these out because it was just absolutely spectacular.
The Flyers: The only other Flyers I have ridden were Holiday World's and those aren't really snappable. I managed to get them to snap on the first try and had a blast. Now if only they would implement the gravy boat flyers...
The Beast: 25 years old and still the signature attraction of the park. There are not many rides out there that stand this test of time. Saturday night (actually Sunday Morning, it was nearly 1a.m.) it was running flat out insane. I took a "standard" ride on Sunday and it was an awesome ride, but to truly appreciate the Beast, it has to be ridden at night. Marvelous wooden creation and definately in my top three wooden coasters.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
That I had to go home Sunday afternoon.
Certain victory.

Haha, Lord Gonchar. That's a great caricature.
I am not trying to be mean but it looks a lot like him. He got the hair perfect.
TTD was built, TTD was broke, TTD is alive.

Nothing mean about it. He did a great job on the drawing. I liked the subtle, unshaven stubble personally. :)

Jeff - Editor - CoasterBuzz.com - My Blog
Special thanks to the rest of my team who ditched me to get to the photo. ;)
We stayed at PKI campground for the weekend and were a little beat after the ERT on the Beast. We asked Jeff from PKI if there was any other transportation to the campground since the shuttles were all done. He said, they hadn't thought of that, but would arrange something. Well, true to his word, as the last few Buzzers were filing out a security car pulled up in front and gave us a lift. I just wanted to say thanks to the great staff at PKI for an enjoyable day!
On a side note. As we were riding in the security car to the campground, the driver asked about who we were with, and what was going on, basic small-talk. Well anyway, trying to impress us, he states that KI is getting a new record-breaking coaster for next year. Highest, fastest, longest. My girlfriend and I just looked at each other and smiled without saying a word. *** Edited 6/28/2004 7:26:15 PM UTC by tambo***
It was also a blast meeting so many others (Gonchar and wife, Danny, Playa, Coaster Chickn, Shivering Tim,) and a bunch others whose names escape me at the moment.
Like many others, I didn't do much riding during the day, since there was so much that we could do (or get into..lol) . The Beast tour rocked!
The weather for the event couldn't have been more perfect. I enjoyed each and every second of Beastbuzz. That was the first time in YEARS that I have spent the whole day (and then some) at PKI.
The nightime ERT on Drop Zone and Delirium were the icing on the cake, and what I looked forward to the most. ;-)
The PKI staff, especially Maureen (hey girl!) went far beyond the call of duty to make sure we were all having a good time (as if that's too hard to accomplish...lol).
Jeff and Stephanie, you guys ROCK! Thanks for such an awesome event!

Hmmmm. What could you possibly be talking about? Perhaps a team actually went to the real graveyard in the parking lot instead of the fake one, and more importantly, the correct one in front of The Beastie?
Nope. You couldn't possibly be refering to my team.......or, woops. That team.

BeastBuzz was terrific, PKI staff was wonderful as always, & those nite rides on Delerium where you're looking straight up into the stars, there are no words...
Although I'm horribly shy (not to mention new to CB) & only spoke to about five people, it was great meet in "real" the people I read all the time. I look forward to running into everyone at other events.
Again, thanks to Jeff, Stephanie, PKI staff, & the everyone else for organizing such a memorable event.
I like to ride woodies.

I've ragged you enough about it... although it is STILL as funny as when you first told it. You left out the part about falling into a hole though... LOL!!!
