Bashing the Po!nt

I don't know about anyone else but when I read some of the threads regaurding Cedar Point, it seems like everyone hates the place. I know other parks(SFMM) have more roller coasters but it seems like everyone seems to think MM is 100 times better.

It's the same with the rides at Cedar Point too. Especially the Millennium Force. The SD2k is 6 ft. higher and 2 mph faster and yet everyone thinks it so much more thrilling and scary.

Does anyone else think this?
I think you have that backwards, everyone loves the Point, and hates SFMM. (maybe not everyone, but most people here do love CP.)

This is just a joke to see if we're really reading right?

I've yet to see a CP bashing thread that lasted very long around here. Six Flags bashing on the other hand...

I don't, never been to Japan so it would be difficult to make the comparison. It is possible, however, that a lot of the people that are more for Cedar Point stay over at www.guidetothepoint.com rather than coming over here, which is a more generally oriented site. That could explain why you don't see so many Point people over here.

Are you kidding? This whole site is full of Point people.
A possible theory for CP "bashing" could be that people are sick and tired of talking about the place. Cedar Point is very large, has lots of rides and it gets a lot of attention.

Perhaps some people get defensive when parks that they know and love seem left out of all the discussion. I guess putting one park down as a way of building another park up is their way of coping with it.

A lot of the statistic swapping and arguing is just petty. It gets tiresome and it doesn't help any with the public's perception of "coaster enthusiasts." Sure, we can be critical of the weaknesses in individual parks in a constructive way but overall, we should be happy that there are so many parks offering a wide range of experiences to satisfy many tastes.

What if it could be conclusively proven that park X is better then park Y? Should park Y just go out of business? Of course not!
Bashing parks (or anything else for that matter) is unacceptable behavior at Coasterbuzz. They are an invitation to start a flame war. These types of threads are a direct violation of our forum guidelines.

3. Flaming
In our efforts to maintain Coasterbuzz as a family-oriented site, the art of flaming is strictly prohibited in the forums. We define flaming as the intent of the topic is to spark a flame war, objectionable retaliation, and the like. Examples of these topics would include; My park is better than your park.., or Park X sucks... etc. Offending posts that spark this type of flaming will be removed, and the offender may be banned from making any further posts in our forum.
