Barrel Rolls

This is getting annoying. I'm trying to make a perfect barrel roll like the one that came with the update. The only difference is I want it pointing striaght up, like the twist on impulses. Anyone know of where I can download one? It's very annoying, all of mine jerk a lot, and I can't figure out how "Buster" made his smooth. Thanks for the help.

Since im not around my PC with NL on it, ill have to guess on this...

Can you insert the barrel roll element then select all the points and rotate the entire thing?

I would also think you could just drag the points from an inserted barrel roll to make it vertical and then fine tune the thing in 3d mode. dont forget the con roll and rel roll buttons.

shoot me. im babbling.

Live on the edge and remember the Twist of Fate.

Tried that, unfortunatly it doesnt work. The only thing it does is really mess up the track. Thanks for trying, though.

Use Con roll. I had that same problem, I learned about Con roll, and they are extremely easy. That should help.

No, it isn't that easy. Take Busters roll which, by the way, is what comes with the update and write down where the control points (blue) and modifying points (white) are in relation to each other (ex. the second point is 3 points one way and 2 points the other way). Do this for the last 3 of the checkpoints and then start rebuilding it. Also note that busters rolls arent true barrel rolls. If you were to line them up, they would drift to the right every time. True, intamin style barrel rolls can be achieved by modifying the first & last checkpoints in the series of rolls to be facing straight into the rolls. I am currently making a coaster containing 5 barrel rolls and designed in the same style as collosus. I have been working extensively on improving and smoothing them, using Buster's rolls as something to base my designs off of. If you would like to see it for an example, contact me through email or over AIM (sn=BBSpeed26) Im frequently on between 7-9 EST. Hope that helps

eh I made my own. It was actually fairly easy. Basicly get you track going vertical. on the first connection that is vertical set con roll and also set rel roll. What I then did is used the banking to make it twist. Frankly it is rather smooth that way.

I've done it that way, too. The thing I want is exactly like the prefab barrel roll, only vertical. That means when you look at it from the top view, it would look like a tight helix. Just banking vertical track produces track rotating, with the train outside of it. I want track to be on the outside, with the train rotating in it, so it looks like http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1076.htm?Picture=5, only vertical.

Yatta!
Hey, look, I have a signature now! Even if it is only Yatta...

To get an inverted barrel roll, insert 2 of busters rolls, highlight the middle 4 sections, and then prefab it. Next reverse the banking on all the checkpoints until it looks as you deire. (ala Tornado or Volcano) Last use the above relative location method to make it vertical.
