Banshee logo?

Way back before Raptor was called "Raptor", there were quite a few promotional things created for the coaster with the name "Banshee" on them. Does anyone have a link to the logo with this name? Thanks.

Google is your friend.

Now wasn't that easy?

It was actually Mantis.

Weird, that google link actually doesn't bring up anything with the Banshee logo for me.

You are not the first person I have heard to think it was Raptor. It was Mantis (TCFKAB) . ;)

Am I the only one who thought a banshee was some sort of bear-like animal, and not a spirit?

Yes ;)

Didn't most of the art work and the idea head over to Dorney for Steel Force?

Iteresting switch in a fast period of time though, Banshee to Mantis..
Banshee... Banshee... Manatee.. Manatee... ..Mantis! There we go.

On Wiki it mentions the "wailing" the trains make to resemble a Banshee "remains" even after the name change. It sounds like a regular B&M though, lol, how would they change the sound it makes? (besides reducing it with sand I mean)

"Two months after dropping the Banshee name, Cedar Point renamed the coaster Mantis (but the sound the coaster makes as the cars roll, originally intended to sound like a wailing banshee, remains)" *** Edited 7/15/2006 1:35:02 PM UTC by P18***

I heard somewhere that the station was designed with the Banshee name to it, as it was supposed to be like a haunted lighthouse.

It does kind of look like that actually. When I was there I was wondering what what it was suppose to look like.

I have the Banshee logo, on a keychain. ;)

It's such a cool name. I still don't understand why Cedar Point didn't use it and tell the one person that was offended to get over it. ;)

Yeah, I mean how sensitive can you be to get offended by a roller coaster name. I think it's a pretty cool name myself as well. How did you get a keychain? That would be cool to have, I could make one of the plastic clear rectangle ones with a printout of that logo in the link above and maybe a pic of the coaster one the other side. Sell it on Ebay as "Rare!Vintage/OOP MINT!!" lol. *** Edited 7/15/2006 8:06:49 PM UTC by P18***

^Sorry, it's actually a pin. My bad. ;) I thought I had a keychain as well but I was confusing it with something else. I just looked through all my coaster stuff.

I got the Banshee pin from a friend a couple of years ago. I have been meaning to put a lot of this stuff on Ebay just to see how high the bidding would go.

ahh ok, thats still cool though. The pin I saw on ebay looked nice
Heres some links of past ebay Banshee stuff if you wanted an idea:
(The pictures don't show up on the ebay site, but if you search google images for "cedar point banshee" most of the pics are from the ebay listings) *** Edited 7/15/2006 10:09:43 PM UTC by P18***
