Bahrain added to ThemeParks.ie

Bahrain is the latest country to be added to ThemeParks.ie, with photographs from the three known coaster parks:

Adhari Park, Chakazoolu Indoor Theme Park and Water Garden Salmaniya.

I'm really impressed with Chakazoolu...beautiful looking park. Jungle Storm looks like a pretty intense little family coaster. One question--is this the lift hill, and is it really that steep?

Yes, it is - it's about a 70º angle, and turns through 90º as it pulls out of the station.

The coaster on the whole is utterly demented (and brilliant); it's ridiculously intense given its statistics, and constitutes a top ten coaster for me. For purposes of comparison, my coaster count is just shy of 1600 at this point.

Where are the coaster and park submissions to the database? ;)

But you're only one person so your opinion is statistically irrelevant or insignificant or something...or so I've been told. ;)

Well, look at it this way -- Richard may constitute a sample size of one from a people perspective, but from a coaster perspective I can't think of any sampling with more stats ;)

My opinion is only that - an opinion. Others will have different ones. I may have a lot of credits to compare against, but that doesn't make my views any more or less valid than other readers; after all, what I enjoy in a coaster may or may not be the same as what others enjoy.

Jungle Storm is the first coaster I've ridden in some time to reduce me to fits of giggles. All the Pax rides I've been on are intense, but somehow the tightly enclosed space and low clearances on this one elevate it to another level for me.

I don't maintain a top ten list, but if I did the other coasters on it for me in no particular order would probably be Eagle Fortress (Everland), Anaconda (Gold Reef City), Millennium Force (Cedar Point), Blue Fire (Europa Park), Voyage (Holiday World), Nemesis (Alton Towers), Dodonpa (Fuji-Q), Dominator (Kings Dominion), and any of the recent GCI woodies.

I like both smooth coasters and intense ones. Rides that hurt me are automatically excluded no matter how good they might otherwise be. Despite the list above I do tend to prefer wood coasters over steel (maintenance permitting!).
