Back to RCT2, anyone else?

For the most part I've liked RCT3 since it has come out. I bought Soaked and I like it, but theres something about the game that doesn't work. I know this has been beaten to death, but I ordered a new dell with the TOP TOP TOP ATI video card just for the game, and especially during night mode, a medium sized park is a bit choppy. Not terrible but not great.

I saw my RCT2 disk laying around, and realized that I could actually play this one on the computer in my room instead of going downstairs to the family computer.

I started playing, making a nice park, but the difference between RCT3 and this? I WAS HAVING FUN! People actually line up for rides, I have all my awesome ride logos back, I have cool supports and catwalks, my Son of Beast trainer can load people in the parks, I can do all sorts of great things that make the game fun. The graphics aren't great, but the coaster trains are FANTASTIC compared to some in RCT3. You have to make a 12 tile long station for a 6 or 7 car giga coaster train that doesn't even look realistic. Sure the graphics overall aren't as amazing, but I'm having such a better time than I was with RCT3.

Going all the way back to RCT1 would be pushing it because of the lack of scenery, especially stackable scenery, as well as ride selection, but RCT2 is great.

Anyone else gone back? Try it. It's fun! :)

I do it every day.

Heh, I've been considering popping RCT2 back in.

Might just have to do it one of these days.

It'd be hilarious if we got a whole core group to go back to playing it and then started posting (just general posting to each other) over at the official forums in the RCT2 section.

Just to let them know there's a whole bunch of people still enjoying the best version of the game out there. :)

The increased traffic would be bound to catch someone's eye.

The only thing I forgot about is how small the flat rides are compare to the coasters. In RCT3 the size ratio is MUCH more accurate.
I'd like to see RCT4 be a best of both worlds RCT2&3 combo
I haven't played RCT3 in soo long..I am addicted to RCT2. I miss the cool flats that RCT3 has unlike RCT2.
I tried the RCT3 demo for about 20 minutes, got fed up with it (slow computer doesn't help), promptly stuck RCT2 back in, and haven't looked back yet.

I'll take low-level 2D graphics and fun gameplay over a snazzy 3D game with poor gameplay and boxy-looking graphics. I still have lots of fun making my own hard scenarios and beating them (because I DESPISE the 'get XXX persons in your park in XX years' scenarios because I take my time making quality rides!)

Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now....

I'm in the same boat. I played RCT3 for a short while, then popped in RCT2, and I've never looked back. Screw the fancy graphics, RCT2 is way more fun, and it actually runs on my comp.

Their war. Our world.
I couldn't agree with you guys more. I mean, I got RCT3 last Christmas and discovered it didn't work on my computer. I guess I needed to buy another video card or whatever, but I said screw that once I heard about all of the negatives of RCT3.

So I just kept on playing RCT2 and continued to enjoy it. I don't think I have even fully explored everything in this game yet. That gives me more of a reason to keep playing.

I boot up RCT2 now and again, after all its still the better game. RCT3 i like it too, but RCT2 will live on! LOL! I built a few new awesome coasters with 2...3 i like how you build coasters and how you can see why you can't put that track somewhere...they have much more advanced options.
