Attendance factors. All parks

I was just curious if parks that hold private buy-out events include the people that go through the gate during these events are included in the attendance tally.

SFGAm has been holding Friday evening private outings this month (oh heck, they have alot of private outings at the beginning of the season, and also near the end).

Not just SF, but does CF, Paramount, etc, include these events in their attendance numbers?

I was looking for days to possibly go visit Holiday World on their web site and they are basically closed for most of the weekends in September for private events.

I happened to stumble upon a brochure that was passed out to the employees of a corporate buyout that was hosted at SFA today. It said you needed a ticket, because no tickets would be sold at the park, and season passes wouldn't be accepted either, but whether that ticket costed money (at a reduced rate?) I don't know. It would make sense to count these people, even if they paid at a reduced rate, but if on the other hand their tickets were paid for, then maybe it wouldn't. It was definitely a different vibe with beer trucks parked around the park. All I know is that we were packed and have another one tommorow.

Well, since my topic has been hijacked and transformed into a Holiday World thread, I will direct this question to Paula. :)

Does Holiday World count the private events towards your overall seasonal attendance?

I don't see why any park wouldn't count them. They're legitimate, paying guests. They should count.

You'd count a large, corporate group of people on a day that the park's open to the public, right? It's still a group sale and not walk-ups. Same goes here.

Whether the whole park is rented out or not, it's still a certain number of people paying to use your facility... and that's the definition of attendance.

Isn't it nice, sugar and spice, luring disco darlings to a life of vice.

My question is what would be the outrageous cost of renting out a park?

Yes, the "buy-out" days in the fall are counted in our annual attendance numbers.

Thanks, Paula
