Atari releases RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic for iOS and Android

Atari has just released RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, a "new" game for mobile based on the Atari-produced theme park sims. Classic takes its cues from the original RTC and RTC2, offering a more simple take on park design, construction and management than more recent titles in the series. It's also the first RTC game for mobile that isn't stuffed full of microtransactions.

The battery life issues must be an Android thing... my iPhone 7 battery got me through a 6 hour flight playing it straight through.

No, it's a giant bright screen + CPU thing. My phone I'm sure would be fine, but the tablet is not particularly powerful, and that's a lot of screen to light up. (There is no "Android thing" really, because there are countless combinations of hardware.)

I had issues with vandalism at first, but now my park is rather large with <10 security guards, and having no issues. The park's also in year 16 with somewhere around 1500 guests

Stupid Amazon. Doesn't look like it's available for the Kindle Fire. There's a game called Roll on the Coast that, from the screenshots, looks like a (I assume unauthorized) copy of RCT. Release date was 12/26.

I usually download APKs side load on my fire. Cause the store sucks.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

The battery issues are definitely device specific. No battery or CPU issues on my Moto Z Force phone.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Seems like I don't get my money back when I demolish a coaster as opposed to deleting it section by section. >:(
