At Knott's Berry Farm one e-mail really can make a difference

For at least the last 2-3 years Knott's Berry Farm has had a ride maintenance schedule posted on the calendar page on their website. I have always checked it to make sure that my favorite rides should be open when I plan to visit. I know that rides can close unexpectedly, but if they already know a certain ride will be closed on a certain date it was great to be able to know before I got there, and possibly reschedule a trip if a top favorite ride will be closed.

Recently, I believe within the last month, Knott's redesigned their website to give it the same formatting that most other CF parks use. On the redesigned website the ride maintenance schedule was removed. Last Wednesday, I e-mailed Guest Relations and explained the same things which I said in the first paragraph of this post. I also requested that they put the ride maintenance schedule back on the website. They responded to my e-mail within 2 hours of when I sent it and said that they would share my comments with the Ride Maintenance department for review.

On Friday, I checked the calendar page on their website and the ride maintenance schedule had been returned within 2 days of when I e-mailed the park. It is very nice to know that they took my request seriously and acted so quickly. I have always had high praise for the quality of customer service I have received at KBF, but to have a corporation act this fast shows that their employees really do care about the quality of the guest experience. The ride maintenance schedule has helped me already, as I was going to visit KBF this week, but have now pushed the trip back one extra week, since the GhostRider is currently closed.

Here is a link to the calendar page. Scroll down to bottom right corner if you would like to see the schedule.

My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
2010 total visits: SFMM-9, KBF-2
2010 total ride laps: 437

To bad that the experience once you are inside the park has been going down for the past 10+years. At least the Website is better now, got to start someplace I guess..

I disagree. IMO, customer service is as good as ever, the employees are friendly, the park is always very clean, park operations are excellent, and they have better rides than they did 10 years ago or more. Granted it is my 2nd favorite park, but I have always enjoyed going there and still do. I have no real complaints other than terrible food prices, but that is hardly unique to KBF.
