Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.

I have 32 coasters in my track record.....I'm so proud of myself.

Or actually, a lighter train will accelerate faster, but it will also slow down faster as it goes around the track. In the design of S&S's launched coaster, they actually weigh each train before launching and the computer makes adjustments to the launch thrust to get just the right speed.

SFGAMDie Hard: I found the launch of Hypersonic to not be any more jolting that Rock N Rollercoaster. LIM's produce a maximum thrust when the velocity is 0. This means that the train starts with kind of a jolt since acceleration is greatest when you just start. S&S's air cylinders seem to produce a more constant thrust. Hyper also has very nice seats which helps.

Any resemblance between this post and humor is purely coincidental. No robots were harmed in the filming of this episode...The sarcasm filter default has been left ON for your enjoyment.

Why is this ride 90% flat track? I know it needs space for the launch but compared to XL that is rediculous. I thought that they were planning to add more elements to the ride, but this one features less than Hypersonic XL.

VertigoL: sarcasmWhy is the two Supermen (SFA, SFDL) composed of a couple flat sections, didn't they plan to add hills there./sarcasm

Actually, Dodonpa has an overbanked turn, faster launch, little dip after launch (can you spell AIRTIME), etc. etc. So I wouldn't say it's one feature less.

Actually, there is no overbanked turn. There is no dip after the launched. From what I saw, there was about 15 foot drop near the end of the ride, no hill crusting so no airtime on that dip. It would have been cool, but that speed track really does make up for it. I'm just waiting to see all these new elements they've been talking about adding. They were talking about more hills and stuff at IAAPA and I really am begging to see them.

No, that's incorrect Vertigo. There is a long gradual dip after the launch providing sustained airtime. After that is a huge highly banked turn. I took many pictures of it!

So this ride would be best ridden all by yer lonesome?
