Arrow River Rapids - CoasterBuzz

Coaster Force states that Arrow Dynamics offers river rapid rides. It says that they haven't built many, but that they are far better than the competitions. Does anyone have a list of Arrow's river rapid rides?

I think the bulit the one at IOA. The one at IOA looks really good and the theming is very nice. Hopefully the make some more.

Most rapids rides are actually built in-house and parks simply purchase the boats from a company that makes them (Intamin, Hopkins, etc). IOA's rapids ride was built by Barr Engineering, not Arrow. A quick check on Arrow's website does not seem to indicate that Arrow sells rapids ride boats, anyway.

I think Arrow did Flume's, among other water rides.

Arrow most definitely did long flumes, along with shoot-the-chute rides. But not rapids rides.

Knott's Berry Farm was going to get (what was then) a prototype rapids ride from Arrow.

just look at Arrow on Coasterforce and it will say it made, the one at IOA, Animal Kingdom, a shoot the chute at CP and at Dorney and a few others, so it doesn't make them often like Intamin, but when they do, they are simply the best in the world and alot more capacity which is really good.http://www.coasterforce.com/arrowthrill.htm this will show their work.

According to Roller Coasters, Flumes and Flying Saucers, Karl Bacon had plans to build a rapids ride, but Rio Grande, who owned Arrow at the time, didn't want to sell it...because the whole thing would be concrete, there wouldn't be anything billable to build, or something like that. So while Karl had a design for one, Arrow never actually built a rapids ride. Most rapids rides are built by Intamin, Hopkins, Reverchon, Hafema, or Barr.

The real irony there is that Arrow has since dropped their manufacturing plant. Go figure.
