Arrow Lifts

It may Just Be me but i think arrow lifts sound extreemly "crunchy" when a train is being carried. Do they use a certain type of chain dog or something? I know ive seen indentations running alongside the chain itself so maybee thats it.

I wondered that too. I think Arrow uses "deeper" Anti-Rollback slots. And B&M uses "shallow" but more anti-rollbacks on the lift. But I think the shallowness causes in a quieter sound. Or The use differant Lift dog all together. But I think im wrong. Any Park Mechanics out there to help us? :)
I work at the adventuredome here in las vegas and we have an arrow looper, Canyon Blaster. It has that loud clanking that only arrow's have. A problem that arrow's have is when a train "skips-a-dog". Im still uncertain as to what it is, but you notice it when the lift begins to shake and the train makes a loud popping noise like a gun
I believe Arrow does use deeper anti-rollbacks. I know, at least on the Magnum, they are at least 2 inches deep...and the 'anti-rollback dog' is all together much larger than any B&M I've seen...

I love the noise on Magnum, it like pumps you up. Double loop at the old Geauga Lake seemed to have a really loud anti-roll back system, but that wasn't always the case. Only sometimes it would be really loud, anyone know why that is?

I noticed that the dogs on Loch Ness Monster sound shallower than other Arrow lifts...anyone know more about this???

Decisions determine destiny; Destiny determines decisions.
How loud an Arrow anti-rollback sounds when you are riding often depends on where you sit...a typical Arrow train only has two anti-rollback dogs on it. On Magnum, for instance, they're on cars #2 and #4 if I remember correctly.
