Arrow is Dead

I just got back from Camden Park. The Arrow looper there is coming down. Some of the ride has already been removed(supports and things like that). I talked to one guy who is a supervisor at the park. He said the company that designed it is going to be out of business soon and that is why no parts have been ordered to fix the ride. The man that told me this is a reliable source of info for Camden Park. The park owners had been in contact with Arrow to fix the ride by providing a new computer system for the ride and replacement parts for the train. My guess is this with X being down is going to drive the final nail into Arrow's coffin. It is a shame because Arrow has been an innovator in the design of steel coasters.
Yea it certainly is a shame...sad to see the creators of the many headbangers put to rest...jp im sure they will find someway to make it out of the hole.....X was so inovative im sure someone will be happy to help them out for a discounted 4th demension
Arrow has done some wonderful things for the industry. They have done Magnum at Cedar Point, Excalibur at Valleyfair, Vortex at Canada's Wonderland, Adventure Express at Kings Island and Viper at Darien Lake. Like I said, my info came from a reliable source. It will be a shame to see Arrow close, but the legacy of Arrow should live on for generations to come.
I'm not quite dead yet....it's only a flesh wound! :) Yeah the Camden thing isn't new news, but still sad to see anything in bad shape. Funny how he claims that Arrow's financial trouble is the reason TE hasn't reopened....last I checked Camden didn't have the funds to fix it. And now that it has sat so long, things are falling off of it faster than they can repair it. A Skydiver WAS a better choice! I doubt Arrow would have turned them down, especially when it's their ride. But for the 3 or 4 others in this world that still support Arrow, you can take a spin on Screamin Demon's twin at Fun Spot (which is running great btw).

All we need is B&M Guy, Vekoma Guy and CCI Guy to add their 2 cents! LOL

Wooo! Ding dong, the witch is dead, dry your eyes get out of bed... :) I hate Arrow MegaLoopers, don't even start about innovativeness with me either!

Why do they report power outages on TV?

Take a look a Valleyfair's Corkscrew it has been in operation since 1980. Valleyfair's maitnence crew has done an excellent job with it. Very smooth ride along with a intense loop and strong helix turn at the end and not to mention Excalibur !

Hello!! even the old B&Ms are getting rough. Would you be as happy if they fold too? Bottom line, steel does not age well (except for Anton's creations)
I agree with you Arrow guy. It sounds to me like the Intamin guy has it in for Arrow. The initial post sounds like he is almost happy about it. I like ANY coaster regardless of manufacturer, and to lose any coaster is not a good thing. Sure I have my favorites, but I'll still ride a vekoma, togo, or any other "rough," "headbanging," coaster. Any coaster is better than none.
S00perGIR, ya wanna step outside for a minute? Someone hasn't done their industry homework! :)

I have heard that Arrow quit making parts for their shuttle coasters for a couple years now, but of course, I don't know the situation with Camden Park. It has been getting increasingly difficult to keep these rides running in tip top shape. I'm just glad that I have one in my park, I don't think people give these rides much credit. The Sidewinder is my favorite coaster at Elitch Gardens, to both ride and operate, even if there are 100 steps to the top.

LONG LIVE THE ARROW SHUTTLE :)

J, thanks for your patronage! LOL...yeah I wish they had provided elevators for ALL the shuttles. That's one thing Anton had the advantage on. Do you guys need an operator at each end? Fun Spot does, so I wondered if that was something they had eliminated with the later models. You guys did a kick *** job with the paint and decals!

Oh yeah, you're right, Fantom...........IG sounds just absolutely gleeful about Arrow's demise. Mm-hm. *rolling eyes*

ArrowGuy- There has to be an operator on the far side, it is the best job in the park, you get to sit in a chair and only have to push two buttons. The hardest part is putting on the safety harness.

I do know that Morgan has been and will continue to be an Arrow parts maker and seller to parks that are willing to buy from them. I think the Camden situation boils down to money. They can easily get those same parts from Morgan.. whoops, I mean Chance/Morgan :)

I wouldnt count Arrow out just yet...They are down, but the ref has only counted to 5 ;) Someone will come along and pick them up off the canvas :)

WCUSA-The World's largest theme park is coming!
Theme parks will NEVER be the same!

There didn't seem to be any major parts of TE removed as of Saturday 6/22. The train was even still up there (with half the restraints open). It didn't look like anybody has even been near that thing in a long time.
Wow, I wonder what's going to happenen to all the arrow looper. It would be kind of sad to see GASM go. But then a B&M 4-D would look kind of snazzy.....

Arrow is dead when they lock the doors and close up shop. Until then, this is rumor mongering of the worst kind... from a park.
