Waldameer is getting their CCI wooden coaster one way or another. Paul Nelson said so. If all goes according to plan, construction should start by midseason 2002 and open for 2003. Ravine Flyer 2, the steel/wooden hybrid, will span a road twice, have a drop of about 110 feet, and a 3000+ foot long course. And of course, being made by CCI nearly ensures the fact that this will truly be a great coaster. This past season, the head mechanic of the park mentioned that another ride (he didn't mention what kind of ride) will be accompanying the coaster. In the past it was mentioned that Mr. Nelson had his eyes on a free-fall ride. Also in the past year there have been rumors of a waterpark expansion.
It doesn't matter to me what the park gets next year...I only want a solid, official announcement that Waldameer will be getting it's new coaster. I don't care when. Throw the coaster out of the picture, and Waldameer is indeed due for another flatride, as it has been 1999 since we got Ali-Baba and 1996 since Wipeout. Any new thrill ride, though, should increase attendance- something that Waldameer desperately needs in order to continue operating. I'm sure Mr. Nelson is aware that next season is crucial in that many people are not going to be travelling hundreds of miles away to another park. A new thrill ride or waterpark expansion will defanitely be what Waldameer needs. The full announcement should be made in a month or so.

Yet another coaster-craving yuppie

Oh by the way, my home park is SFKK? Hear two or three things but does anyone really know???
It is quite annoying how people complain about what their certain home park is getting, even though it's the world's tallest and fastest certain ride. There are countless other examples of people doing simmilar things, I just hope you aren't one of them.
I for one am happy with what my home park is getting, even though I have no clue what it is. For all I care, it can be a replacement board on Viper or American Eagle, or something as simple as them cleaning the alge off of some of the water fountains.

On the other end of the spectrum, I *am* pleased that Hershey is getting Roller Soaker. Why? Because I didnt get the chance to ride Nick FSS @ Carowinds last year and it looked like fun.
I would have gone to either park regardless of what new they got, but one addition makes me smile and other makes me shrug my shoulders.
Now only if SFA adds a bathroom and a water fountain or four...

I am very pleased about our new flyer,I just wish it was going to be bigger.
I'm happy about it too. But remember, no stats have OFFICIALLY been confirmed, so the length is still under questioning. Of course the ride hasnt been officially confirmed by the park either so even though its evident its a B&M flyer, nothing about it is really known to most of us.
