Are you an early bird?

Are you the type of person who gets to the park before it opens?  I am.  I love it when you're waiting for the park to open so you can be the first one on the best ride in the park.  Do you get to the park before it opens or whenever you want?

Well, opening day at SFGAm, I wanna get there about 10 minutes early. If I am going to any other park, I wanna get there right when they open so I can spend the longest time there. Most times at SFGAm, I get there around noon or two.
I get to SFNE 30 minutes before opening.  They let you in early at about 9:45 but then they stop you when you get to where the park splits apart.  At 10:00 the whole crowd rushes behind the Looney Tunes Emporium and Scream to get to S: RoS.  I love it but sometimes it gets rough.

My dad gets us there at 9:00! I remember one time we actually ran to Riddler at SFMM. I've never done that before!

I always try to get to a park about 10-15 minutes before it opens.  At SFGAm I usually run right to Raging Bull, last year I was the first person to the ride a couple times and its scary looking back and seeing everyone running at you.  This year I ran to V2 twice and both times I regreted it because it didn't open til about an hour later so I got 2 rides on Batman first.

I am far from a morning person but when I know I am going to visit SFGAm , I make sure the alarm clock is set so I can get to the park by opening time.

I am one to arrive at a park before opening time whenever I can.  I prefer to get there near opening so I can enjoy some of the rides without huge lines.  I don't always get to a park before opening, but most of the time I do.  I'm an early riser anyways, so getting to a park before 9am or so isn't a real problem for me.  Unless of course my wife goes with me, then it's a HUGE problem, considering she takes about a day getting ready to go anywhere.  ;)

Not when it comes to my homepark! I went to IOA 15 mins before it opened & took part in the 'running of the bulls' for Hulk. After 3 rides the area was full-up & saw a sign saying DD was near empty so went there & it was a walk-on for 2 hours.

SFGAm ought to have a 'running of the bulls' festival for Raging Bull. Sorry, I had to say that. :)

I'm more of a night person my self but if it comes to riding coasters I will set my alarm up mid morning and I dont mind getting there a couple of hours after the park opens but I prefer night my self.

I'm a morning person, and prefer to get to parks early. We always hit CP early so we can get some good coaster riding in before the queues fill up.

I'm so NOT a morning person it isn't funny, unless there's a park calling my name.  Then I'm up at the crack of dawn...

lol thats funny. i lounge on the computer till noon usually.

I like to be a good half hour early. Sunday, May 5 I'll be at CP before sunrise. Hopefully I can get some good shots of wicked twister with the sun rising.
Dont believe GregLeg, it was HE who woke *ME* up for CoasterRania this year :) (oh wait, no it wasn't it was Raven-Phile...)

Anyway, this year was the first year I *EVER* made it to parks at/before opening. I usually dont get there till about noon-ish. Sure, the parks are more full then, but I've come to expect the lines anyway. Personally, I'd rather come to the park @ noon and stay till close than come early and leave early. And as for doing both, I just find that 10-12 hours at a park is too much for me....brotha need a nap!

I ususally try to get to the parks from beginning to end if I can help it.  I like to get the most "bang for the buck,"  so I try to be there for the duration.  I used to be quite a night owl, but recently I've changed my sleeping habits and get up early anyway.

Absolutely not. Since my job often ends in the wee hours of morning, you only caught me at Primetime (early admittance to a different section each day for pass holders) at SFA a few times during the season.

I'm up for my morning coffee at 7:00am *every* morning, park or no park. It's sad really, but my job has me trained to be up early so I'm usually at SFMM or KBF by 9:00am. Anyone who's done it can tell you that Riddler's Revenge is the first coaster you want to hit, and the ride really cooks in the morning. Early morning, front seat ride, coaster heaven!

I gotta admit, I am an Early Bird when it comes to visiting parks, I will always try and get there for when the gates open, even if it means I am there 1-2hrs before it offically opens.

I once went upto Alton Towers early in the season when Oblivion had recently opened, and me and my friend were determined to get the first ride of the day on Oblivion, Was'nt going to be easy, because we knew it would be busy. Anyway we succeded in our mission, and managed a great ride with Just Me, My Friend, and a Dad with his 2 Daughters in a car Only, We all complained to a manager because they made all people queue down and around Engergizer when we were all at the entrance first and had waited 15 mins, so they let us have The first ride on the day in our very own car with no one else on it( Great Ride that one, will never forget it) also because we got a quick ride on oblivion, it enabled us to go elsewhere and encounter low queues on every ride in the X-Sector and UggLand for the next 1-2hrs because absolutly everyone was still at Oblivion:)

Anyway The fact is, I cant stand getting there a bit late and be faced with queues into the car park, queues to get tickets and finding out that all the rides that queues already, At least if you get there well before it opens, you will be greated with an empty car park, empty ticket windows, and a chance to ride at least a couple of rides before some serious crowds build up at your favourite rides. I must say, I normally hate getting up early to do anything, but when the words Theme Park is mentioned, you can be sure I will always be up very early ready and eager to leave ASAP.

Living further away from major parks, we have to get up early, I mean not go to bed the night before, & get in the car to drive. I have to allow time for my loligagging around & eating, plus the dog always goes, but I've found lunch is a good time to arrive. Standing in lines is no big deal, IMO. It doesn't bother me. Hotels very often play into how early we go to the parks, though.
