I heard that they were going to change Mantis at Cedar Point to an inverted! Why! It wouldn't be very good.4 inversions.BKF would have it beat.If this is true they should just wait and ask B&M to make them one. Then they would at least not look so cheap.CP isn't cheap anyways(14 coasters) but the Mantis is a great ride.
What the *Beep* are you talking about? That would be physically impossible.

Where would we be without the rumor mill?
no it isn't you would just be upsidedown the entire time. Ouch that would hurt on the shoulders.
Wildone all they have to do is change the cars.It isn't that *Beepin* hard.
raptorfan, do you mean a floorless like Medusa or an inverted like raptor? If you mean like Medusa, it is physically possible but pratically improbable. If you mean like raptor, it aint gonna happen!!!
I think Raptorfan meant floorless as was seen in the topic. Hey raptorfan if you can go back and edit what you said it might make more sense.

LONG LIVE ARROW DYNAMICS!!
I mean like Medusa. But why is it so impossible? All you need to do is change the car.Is that all?It was just a rumor I heard so don't go psycho ok?
Calm down.
This will not happen. If you heard this rumor, you may now forget about it.
As for the possibality, it could be done since I think the guage of the track is the same. The station would need to be modified for the "fold away" floor. But B&M would NEVER go for it, that's just not their style.

So you want a coaster in your backyard? I hope you have a big backyard.
I know it was just a rumor. But obviously some people are getting carried away with it.
The reason people went off is because you said inverted instead of Floorless.

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
The first time I rode it, I was just barely tall enough, so I sat down on it. Booooorrrring! It wasn't intese at all. Then I stood up, and it was really fun
Not only would it be stupid to convert it, it would take mucho dinero and it would take away from the intensity.
Well I think Mantis was built to be a stand-up and they built it just right so there wouldn't be too many g's or maybe even the lifthill was made specially for a stand-up and some of track elements were made for MANTIS or for the stand-up coaster itself. I don't think CP and B&M would mess around trying to make it into a floorless---Hey I think that it would be a good idea but I just don't think it is gonna happen.

WELCOME BACK RAPTOR RIDERS,HOW WAS YOUR FLIGHT?
It would be pointless to turn a Stand-Up into a floorless. That ride would be sooooooo boring.
Sorry Raptorfan, I got confused by the text of your message. The floorless idea is possible, but I don't think it would hapen. It would be alot easier to build another coaster, and that would also further cement their reccord for number of coasters.

Where would we be without the rumor mill?
It would be stpid because they have enough money to buil another one.But they won't because MF is pretty new.
They'll build a wooden twister in 2002, my guess is it will be VERY similar to Ghostrider at Knott's, and will be built in the "L" towards the from of the park beside DT.
Of course they'll make it bigger and better than Ghostrider because CP is the flagship park. Even though Knott's attracts more visitors.
I highly doubt that Cedar Point would put in another woodie this soon. They're having a heck of a maintainece headache with Mean Streak as is. I'd look for one of four coasters for 2002. Wild Mouse, Floorless, Flying, or Thrust Air.

Randy Hutchinson
You build it, I'll ride it
Jeff,
Please have some mercy and kill this pointless thread ASAP!
