Are there any theme parks near Detroit?

I just found out I'm visiting Detroit with the fam, but I don't know what to do there, anybody know of any Amusement/Theme parks in that area that are close enough to get to using public transportation?
2 closest I think would be CP or Michigain's Adventure. Nether is TERRIBLY close to Detroit, though. You would need a car.

Oh my god. I just checked the website for Michigan's Adventure and it's the same distance from Detroit as Chicago. Talk about new location for a theme park.

From areas south of downtown Detroit, you should be able to get there in two hours.

Take it from somebody who used to live in the western suburbs of Detroit, CP is about 1:45 away and MA is 3:00 away. Of course these times will be more or less depending on location.

Remember that you're talking to someone thats dependent on Public Transportation. I could go to Cedar Point again.
Too bad Boblo Island doesn't exist. That place was in your range.

No more getting on the Steamers and cruising to the Island. :( It has been almost 30 years since I was last there.
I live about 7 blocks from Eastern-Detroit. Cedar Point is a good 1:30-2:00 away, depending on driving speed and traffic. Michigan's Adventure is about 3:30-4:00 away. Sorry...
