Are parks usually really quiet in october?

Does the Halloween events change this?.Im asking this because in October we get a week off October 6-10 and i wanted to get some coasters in south florida.
If the park has a Halloween event, expect it to be very very crowded. Halloween events can be some of the busiest times. In fact, last year if I remember a South Florida park had to close it gates becasue maximun capasity had been reached.

If you are thinking about such parks as Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, or Walt Disney World, you better get ready for a crowd. It is one of IOA's busiest times of the year and Universal is no empty park either. Disney is always packed but I do believe they get pretty damn crowded during Halloween too. I'm not really sure about BGTB or if they have a Halloween event. Really, be ready for a crowd no matter where you go in Florida during Halloween.

There are crowds across the country for Halloween events. Most thrillseekers also like being scared by Halloween type stuff (I sure don't, but that's just me) so put the two together, combined with a welcomed break from the new school year, and you have massive crowds at all parks. I remember the last two years, Cedar Point has had the main parking lot filled for their Halloweekends, and I know my cousins have told me sometimes there's not even enough room to move at BGT.

I've never been to a halloween event at a park, I usually go in September to sfdl. Its not crouded at all because most people don't even know its open. But florida, yea it'll be crouded. Its always crouded.

Six Flags Darien Lake Mania! Your #1 source for DL and other parks!

But most Halloween events start at 7 or 8 o'clock don't they. So don't peopel just turn up for them or are they there all day.

Don't tell me this, I'm coming all the way from the England hoping for a quiet time!

Are all the parks generally busier during that time even ones that don't have Halloween events?

Also one think I'm not to sure on, I'm staying at the Hard rock Hotel and they have that express pass thing. Does this mean I never have to queue for a ride no-matter how many times I want to ride it I can keep walking back on?

Thanks!

I never been to the Florida parks for Halloween but I know my home park SFGAV gets packed!! Packed to were people park on the grass or in the Hurricane Harbor parking loot. I went to BGW last Oct and the park wasn't to bad. Thats an amazing park cause at 5pm it changes into a whole new world!! I am hitting PKD up this year in Oct with BGW so I can't wait! good luck on your trip and have fun, I want a trip report on IOA!

October isn't THAT bad. The weekdays are light because school is in. The weekends? Well, Saturdays in Central Florida will always be busy.

The one thing about October is that it's a heavy time for convention business. So the hotels are often busy, but not necessarily the parks.

And to the original poster coming during the first week of October, don't sweat the Halloween stuff. Even though IOA starts early the crowds really don't start to build until later in the month.

You're staying around the same time I will be at Universal Studios and it will be packed all the time. I went in 2000 at the very end of September and just the first weekend of October and it was horribly packed all arond the parks. Staying on site will help a lot for front of the line access, but crowds are going to be bad.
I think im going to BGT on the monday or tuesday but we will leave before 5 so we wont have to worry about night crowds. Also, i have a question about weight on inverts, if you are about 220 will you be able to fit?
You should fit into inverts with ease. One of my friends is 5'10 and weighs about 210, and fits easily into Batman here at Great America.
How are the SFGAv growds during October. I will be in the area the week of the 20th.
Topgun1993, how are the crowds at Great Adventure? Ha, Ha, Ha. Let's just put it this way; I had to hold onto my friends hand to just keep her from getting separated from me in the crowds around Batman the Ride and Nitro. I heard a girl at a game stand telling people that B:TR had a 3-hour wait. Q-Bot was an absolute necessity. Remember that none of your water rides are open, so there are less options for people to ride, hence creating greater crowds.

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
If you go to GAdv on a Friday night you should be OK. Stay away on the weekends though, brutal crowds.

Ask yourself; When was the last time YOU visited Conneaut Lake Park?

Indiana Beach and Holiday World are pretty empty in October ;)

Well yes and no. In MO, we have a pretty active "Halloween" season. With Haunt (Halloweekends) at WoF, and Fright Fest at SFStL, and a Fall Festival at SDC/CC, the parks are still busy. Christmas time at SDC is extremely busy, but then again - it's the "Disneyworld" of the Midwest.
