Are all SF parks this shabby? (kinda long)

I knew someone would bring up WoA. I don't see why people find this park so horrible. I go there all the time and I never have any problems, I always have a good time.

Maybe it's because I am the type going there to have fun, not pick the park apart. It is very biased here anyways since the "cool" thing to do is bash WoA. That's ok though because it seems most enthusiasts are dorky.

I am going to WoA tomorrow, for the 9th. time and I am sure I will have a wonderful visit as usual. You guys keep the lines down for me.;)

what I can't say the park is messy? your the one jumping on the bandwagon here buddy. I guess it makes you just as cool.

Yeah, and they got it b4 they got bought over, SF is way to careless about the way they treat their lesser parks.

Go to KK, notice how much Chang and T² are chipping? T² has red showing up all over, and they were much too lazy to paint the track in the station black with the rest of the ride...

Im just glad Thunder Run is still Thunder Run, thats the only reason I go.

Great, Im getting into my expessive mode, better quit now b4 I say everything and take up like 5 pages...

Why can't it be 1997 again?
Gadv is a great park i think if you like cedar point so much you can all live there. I know almost everyone here hates the SF chains but i really dont mind gum and paint it looks nice when your flying above the sky on a coaster not in the queue.

I don't know about the men's room but, they still have female attendants sit in some of the ladies rooms on their busiest days.

I don't like the name of this thread, but I DO think SF should take note of the fact that SO many of us DO care about more than just the number of coasters - I LOVE coasters, but a clean park with friendly employees is certainly nice too.
Well why not solve this problem???
With this many people responding to this thread I'm sure something can be worked out.
Why not get off your lazy rumps and go fill out an application at the nearest Six Flags park.
That way you can actually contribute to having the parks the way you want them without shoving spam like this down our throats.
I'm actually amazed that I received so many responses. I possibly could have worded things differently but I was mad about something else at the time. Regardless, I can see that almost all of us wish that SF would express a little more passion in their parks but still care most about the rides. We all know it is possible even though they are more "corporate" because of parks like Universal, CP and many others. Perhaps it isn't the number of employees or the quality of the employees but rather the employee morale or the lack of team work. I've never been a SF employee so I'm only speaking in terms of other people I know. Anyway, thanks to those of you who answered my question. With almost all of their parks, it seems to be hit or miss in terms of cleanliness. As for the beauty of them (landscaping, paint, etc.), I think that can be ignored easily enough by riding on coasters.
I did work for Six Flags in the 80's and as employees, if we were seen walking by a piece of trash without picking it up, we would be fired on the spot. To this day I still find myself picking up trash just out of habit. I really can't believe the number of responses stating a trashy park is OK as long as they have coasters to ride. Amazing.....

SFAW, my home park, has made great strides this year in keeping the park clean. Yes, the coasters need painting but I see a little new paint on the buildings on every visit.

As long as Six Flags knows that a trashy park is acceptable, nothing will change but I can tell you that it has not always been like this. Gum, trash and stains on the sidewalk were aggressively picked up every day.

You weren't there July 8, 2001. SFWOA was so gross and disgusting my family wanted to leave at 3:00. I'll probably never be able to convince my family to return. The power at the park went out, the toilets backed up and there was sewage running down the midway in the Rockville area. The odor was just horrendous!

I have to say that SFDL has gotten a lot of the attention that it deserved. I remember going there right around the time SF purchased it and it was a mess - gum everywhere, lots of smoke, poor operations, etc. Not that I looked for things, but you can't help noticing when it gets to a certain point.

Things are MUCH better now. Maybe they hone in on a few parks at a time. Operations are still typical of a SF park (some capacity issues), but they don't draw the crowds of the other parks, so it's tolerable.

Everyone here seems to disagree about the state of a park. I think its obvious that Six Flags parks just aren't kept as clean as Disney and Busch Gardens and Cedar Fair. That is something you have to expect when going to a Six Flags park. They concentrate more on bringing in new rides as fast as they can. Six Flags should slow down a little and concentrate on making the parks look nicer. Sure, you can say people notice too much...but theme parks are designed primarily for families. That's why you find rides anywhere from kiddie rides to coasters. Using Great Adventure as an example...the average family is going to notice disgusting bathrooms and say, weeds growing around Scream Machine. It wouldn't hurt them to just clean the park. I know we shouldn't expect anything this big, but when I was in Disney, when the park closed at night...they had grounds people power washing every inch of path in the park. Cedar Point does this as well. When I leave great adventure, I don't see anything of the sort. I love the park and enjoy myself every time, but I still come home and immidiately take a shower. Yes, I would have a much better time if litte things like weeds being removed or gum being scraped off were taken care of.

I was thinking about this. If Six Flags did slow down and cleaned everything up as well as the other chains would we appreciate how clean the other parks are or would we take it for granted?

We *would* take it for granted, and move on to the next thing to complain about. If the GP complains, you know there's a problem. I don't know if I completely trust what most enthusiasts have to say anymore because 90 percent of it is negative.
