Apex Parks Group announced on Nov. 9 that Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer Al Weber, Jr. died suddenly on Nov. 8 while vacationing in the British Virgin Islands. I only met him once, at an IAAPA Expo a very long time ago. While he seemed like a nice guy, it's really the testimony of people that worked with him that leads me to believe he was legendary. His subordinates didn't always agree with him (thinking of the Paramount days in particular), but importantly, he was respected. The industry is definitely at a loss.
He seemed to do a good job overall at Paramount and Six Flags. Shame.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
