Just want to know has anyone ridden Freeze with laps, how was it, and are the lapbars comfy? What about larger guests? Can't wait 6 more days to Freeze my butt off at SFStl!

I have ridden Freeze with lapbars.

I rode twice today (4-14). They only had one side open but the park wasn't too crowded so the wait was only about 30 min when I first arrived at the park and 10 min the second time I rode.

How was it?

Only one word comes to mind, INSANE!!!! All the G-forces are still present but now your free to fully experience them.

I never felt such a feeling of freedom on Freeze like I felt today. Especially in the front seat. I held my hands up all the way through the course and baby what a rush!

What do I mean by "freedom"? Well, up until today I had only ridden Freeze with those cumbersome OTSR's. Needless to say they tend to obscure your vision as your traversing the track. Now, with lapbars, the view is spectacular, especially on the vertical spike.

Then there's also the ability to trun your head more freely and look around, even behind you if you wish. Also, anyone who complained of headbanging before will discover that they no longer have anything to complain about. There's no more rider discomfort in the slightest. Hell, B:TR hurts more than this thing does now.
The feeling that you are finally free to feel this rides forces and nuances the way the designers meant you to feel them is umistakeable.

As for the view, I was able to see things in ways that I had never seen them before, especially on the tophat and vertical spike.

What do I mean by that? For starters, during the tophat, you get a MUCH better view of the element in all it's splender. The sensation of heading straight up over and straight back down again gives you almost a flying sensation! Especially since you can move your arms and head freely with no discomfort!

Going up the vertical spike is another story. Going up is now far more awe inspiring with a view that can, for the first time, be experienced the way it was meant to be experienced by it's designers.

The view from atop the spike is enhanced, again, by the fact that you now have full freedom to move your head around. The view of Batman:TR and particulary downtown Dallas was awesome with no cumbersome OTSR's to obscure your view.

In short, it feels like a whole new ride, and an AWESOME!! one at that.

You are in for a treat when ride Freeze with lapbars.

Oh yeah, the laps are petty snug. The seats are slightly inclined to accomadate them. There's no discomfort of any kind, but some people have claimed that the foot supports were not easy to get your feet into. I personally didn't have any problems with this. My feet, which are size 12, seemed to fit fine.

There are seatbelts that attach to the sides of the lapbars as a saftey measure. You do not, however, were any seatbelt yourself.

Hope this post was helpfull to those wondering about Mr. Freeze's lapbars.

angnjc, I don't want to burst your bubble, but don't count on Mr. Freeze at St. Louis being open this weekend. They just put the train on Saturday. On Sunday they tested all day, but the train never made it through the top hat. Unless they bust their butt all week witht his ride, I don't think it will be open.

After a call to SFStL today I was told by guest info at the park that Scooby Doo will NOT open until late May. I was also told that unless problems arose Mr Freeze would open on Saturday April 20 with lapbars as the trains have been testing perfectly and the ride has passes inspection and been granted its insurance form avoiding the problems at SFoT. This from guest information, not the Dippin Dots (r) man! :)

Don't believe anything guest relations says. I guess I forgot to mention that I witnessed the trains being put on the track and it testing. BTW Scooby Doo is scheduled to open on May 18th. Don't be dissing on the Dippin' Dot guys. They are my friends but I believe that Mr. Dave Roemer is a much more reliable source ;)

Just to update everyone about Mr. Freeze at SFSTL. I called the park today and talked to park operations and they said Mr. Freeze will be ready for Opening Day. He said it has been tested and certified. The only problem is the weather which is calling for rain and thunderstorms most of the day. So I hope to get lucky and be able to ride Mr. Freeze with lapbars tommorrow.

Is Freeze really having trouble with the top hat and making it because Chiller can't make the top hat with lap bars either so how did Freeze at SFOT do it.

*Eating Hat* Well it appears I bet on the wrong thing. I was "shocked" today when I saw Freeze run.

Life lesson #1 to all you young pups out there, NEVER trust everything you are told by management or you will soon realize there is a knife in your back! :) For once I was very glad to find a rumor on this board to be wrong!!! Now, about that 16 lane highway...... ;)

Why does everyone doubt me on this, jsut because I was slightly wrong about Freeze (And trust me if you were told what i was you would think it would not have opened this weekend eather) But I was told durnign orintation that it would be as said above. they only got to add a new over pass and 4 or so lanes.

As far as being wrong about Freeze, not your fault, see post above. As far as the highway goes don't worry, see post above. :) I went Saturday and only had 45 min. to stay and got there 1 minute too late as they were closing the que to do a safety inspection and after waiting 40 minutes then going back to the car to head home I heard it run(arrrrrrrrgh) So we went back today and Freeze was a walk on and all we can say is "wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!! This made Freeze a top 3 coaster in our books.Of the coasters we have ridden only Goliath and Superman: Krypton Coaster are better. And can anyone tell me why they would have single train op on the Boss and still give double rides?(arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh) 40 minute wait on what would have been a 10 minute wait on normal days!
