Anyone ridden Katun?

Has anyone ever managed to snag a ride on this beast? I have always been infatuated with it, as its such a large B&M Invert. The second largest I do believe?

I dont know if its ever been discussed, but I was just curious as to what the ride was like, and how it stacked up against some of the best inverts around.

According to this it's the 2nd best inverted coaster in the world, along with the 5th best steel coaster overall.

Haven't ridden it myself but trip reports I've read have pretty much all been raves.

Wow, it's amazing what happens when we use the search function.

How'd you get the search to work?

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

^ Don't worry about it, people just think they are Hot S*** because the search function works for them. It has never worked for me either.
/\ The search function on the site itself doesn't work from what I know, but there is still a way to search, just use google. Type in what you want to search for, followed by a space, then www.coasterbuzz.com *** Edited 8/13/2006 5:33:20 PM UTC by P18***

Works even better if you use 'site:www.coasterbuzz.com' :)

That link is fun if not just for reading about Katun, but seeing 5-year-old signatures. Such as a SFWoA site, and one that reads, "Batwing-Bow Down".

No offense to anyone.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
It's worth noting that not everyone on this site is American -- exactly half of the coasters I've been on are from places other than the United States, though that will be changing next week :)

Just so as this post isn't completely useless, let me add - Katun is pretty good, but I still prefer Anaconda (Gold Reef City).

Katun is one of the bigger B&M inverts, yet it doesn't lack intensity at all. I liken it to something like Montu or Raptor, but better than both.
