Anyone remember PLAYLAND?

My mom used to take us to a small theme park called Playland. This was about over 20 years ago. It was located somewhere in the Philadelphia area. They had a small kiddie coaster and a few other flat rides. Does anyone remember the park..where it was located exactly and where it went? It's been bothering me for some time because I was looking for it and haven't found a thing about it or why it closed or where the rides went to..etc etc.

Any help would be appreciated and if you find links, please post them.

Thanks!

i have seen a couple sites dedicated to defunct parks . that would probobly be were to start looking

Right. DP lists a Playland in an area near Philladelphia: http://defunctparks.com/parks/PA/indexPA.htm

I'm sorry, but it looks lime your little park bit the dust.

Oddly enough, there was a Playland in suburban Chicago (Justice) which sounds very similar to the one in Philly. They had a Jr Woodie and lots of carnival-type rides. I'm guessing it closed about 30 years and was replaced by a mobile home park.

Kirby..it was on the list..its the one listed for Cheltenham..no info or articles though..even a photo would have been great. I know it has been closed for sometime but I wanted to know when and where the rides went..bummer.

Somtimes a park changed there name several times over the years. Maybe it's not listed under the name you remember it by.

If you looking for stuff from the park try Ebay. It's amazing some of the old postcards and souvineres you can find.
