Anyone have pics of The Edge (SFGAM)

Anyone know of any links with a picture of this drop ride?  What was the deal with the accident.  Did that have something to do with Mariots selling the place to s.f.?  Thanks for the info/
Here is the only information I have found on it

Did SFGAm really have this ride?  I was born in 84 so I would't really know but I've never remembered it or hearing about it.  I, honestly, thought you were talking about Giant Drop, but, I was wrong.  Interesting...
Yes, they had the ride. 1st generation Intamin freefall which sat on the current site of Power Dive (which might not be there next season.) I'm surprised these rides didn't have anti-rollbacks to begin with. Maybe if they did The Edge would have been there long enough for me to be able to ride it. I've never been on a 1st generation freefall.
You didnt miss much in my opinion. It was basically just a split second freefall sensation. The 2nd generation freefalls are far and away better.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL
Patrick, I don't know if you need a picture of the actual ride, but there are plenty of parks that still have them (see CP, SFGADV, SFWOA, SFMM, etc.)

If you want, you can still see it in person at SFWoA, now known as Mr. Hyde's Nasty Paint Job.

wow i never knew about that. That must have sucked, are there percations to prevent such accidents again?
Yes, anti-rollback brakes have been installed on all the 1st-generation freefalls since that accident happened. I guess you learn from your mistakes even though thats a messed up way to learn.

I prefer this ride to Giant Drop for some odd reason.  Yes, Giant Drop is taller... but all you do is go down.  it is a very interesting feeling to go up a clanky, old ride, that you know has had an accident on before, and ride it.  The initial drop is great, as you get to the top, and inch your way forward, then the anticipation comes.  You feel the gate give way from your legs somehow, and you fall.  The best part is like a falling you cannot control, and you start to lean down, so you are on your back.

I went on Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall, and absolutely loved it.  I must be special or something :)

So true! As long as I live, I'll never understand how they got the idea to theme it as a 50's drive-in theater.

I will NEVER go on Mr Hyde again! When I went, the ride broke down just before we got on. They finally fixed it after 20minutes and they didn't even test it to see if it was safe! Ok, then the little car got yanked up the lift very hard........it flew forwards and I about flew out of my harness. And right after it got yanked, it dropped without a second notice! The drop was the best part until when we were on our backs......we were at high speed until the brakes halted and I mean halted the little car to a stop. Then the worst part which I knew was coming was when the car went down the little track rightsideup again. It went BAM really loud and a chip from the ride flew into my lap! Yes folks, that is my "trip" report on Mr. Hyde's NASTY Fall! Thank you for reading this.....lol.
I liked Demon Drop at CP a lot. It was neat to feel like this ride is so old and suff, it really adds to the thrill.

I remember riding the Edge when it first came out at Great America. Back then it was one of the scariest rides out there. I rode it again at SFWOA this last summer and I can definately say that the ride has not aged well at all.

Cheers,
