Does anyone know where The Hangman was located within the park? I never got to visit Opryland after it was built.
In my opinion, Chaos was a great coaster. There was just something about the combination of the music, fun factor, and its uniqueness that really made it a fun coaster. The line always moved very quickly, and it was rarely over 45 minutes. I rode it well over 500 times, and I miss it along with the rest of the park.

Of course Old Indiana was sold last year. Opryland's rides may have finally been put to rest and are operating at that great amusement park in the sky.

Speaking of things still there, After I sent an angry letter to Gaylord back in '98, they sent me a copy of an early concept drawing of Opry Mills. It is interesting though, in these plans I recieved, parts the New Orleans, Riverside, and Lakeside areas were planned to be left intact. On the plans they are labled "Future Shopping Attractions".
Apparently Gaylord had planned to leave parts of the Park, minus the rides, still standing. They must have ditched that idea, and simply built the Parking Lott over the Entire thing.

Yes, I have personally seen the Grizzly River Rampage layout first hand from the mall parking lot still intact. I'm not so sure the whole course is left though.
But now that I think about it, since were talking about Gaylord, the prices to ride these rides would have been outragous.
Plus, if I get lucky and my Hickory Entertainment ever gets off it's feet I plan to rebuild Opryland USA+some new attractions that Opryland deserved.
I hear that park officials wanted to build a B&M Inverted--but Gaylord closed it first. Is this fact or fiction?

But I wouldn't forget it. They were kind of weird in the way they ran things anyway. I never did understand why they moved the Skycoaster to the Middle of the Park, Built Chaos, Put Old Mill Scream over Eagle Lake, Didn't move the 2nd Train Depot to the back of the Park, or came up with that Fuzzy Purple Monster as there mascot in the later years either.

Nashville needs a theme park!
It left that big Field over at the back of the Park empty, and like Michael19887 said, would have been a great spot for expansion, Just like it was before they evan built Skycoaster.

The station and ride layout seems exactly the same however the music and effects are very different from Chaos. I like these effects better, but I did like going through the wall of fire on Chaos...I thought that was cool. I can distinctly remember the 'winding down' sound as the train enters the station - the sound is in this video as well. I remember when riding in the very front car you would nearly get whiplash when you entered the station and hit the first 90-degree turn going really fast!
I was never a huge fan of Chaos. To me it was just a roller coaster that went in circles and the effects were never perfected. Opryland was my home park and so I will always have a soft spot for it. Sigh.
