Anyone Ever rode a FerrisWheel with Two on one arm

My mother just bought me a book about rollercoasters for my birthday and they show a ferris wheel on where there is one large arm that rotates and there are two little feris wheels on each of its ends. i remember seeing one awhile back but not operating.Has anyone ever ridden one and what are they like? also do any of them still exsist?
yeah, there is one at the ocean city, md park, trimpers rides. it is a very nice ride, but it might not be operating anymore...

You used to see those a lot more way back when. Unfortunately, I never had the chance...speaking of which, I'll bet that's who created that ride!

Yeeee Haaawwww!
I believe those rides were called Sky Wheels.  You used to see them at carnivals and fair, and amusement parks that ran small, portable rides, like the parks in Ocean City MD and Wildwood NJ.  I can't remember the last time I saw one, though.
I've ridden one back when it was in place (SFGAm)...:(
Years ago the York Fair (York PA) used to always have one of these on the midway. Never knowing the proper name (Sky Wheel?) most people just called it the "Double Ferris Wheel". Afraid of heights, I never went on it... it rotated pretty fast and looked kind of wicked (at least to my little mind... I mean this was YEARS ago).

Not sure when it made its last apperance (I did not go to the fair in the years between 1976 and 1999), but I know it has not been there in at least the last three years.

Coaster Xtreme... are you thinking about the large type with one center "boom" and claw like arms around the ends, similar to Hersheypark's Giant Wheel? These are large permanent rides, not the portable "double ferris wheels" that I believe MrMightyMouse is talking about.

"I wasn't always this cynical, but then I started kindergarden..."

Sounds like a Sky Wheel. In fact, here's a photo of one.

I believe the Sky Wheel was first developed by Velare, who sold the production rights for it to Allan Herschell. The one I rode most recently is a Herschell, built in 1967. Right around 1970, Chance purchased the Allan Herschell Company and I believe continued to build the Sky Wheel. Just a few years ago, Chance sold off most of their interest in the Allan Herschell product line, so the Allan Herschell company is back in business again, under the guidance of the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier. I think that's how it works, anyway!

Yeah, Cedar Point had one at the front of the park a long time ago.
